You've made the exact same post in qoraxeeys topic. A topic which has been moved to the politics section. No need to make a topic about it in the Generals you attention seeker.

Say whatever you want to say about Siyad Barre but Somalis post the Kacaan are special case that has baffled the international community. One wonders how did Siyad Barre kept Somalis on lock for 21 years?

You're giving the guy way too much credit. Puntland is doing just fine without the Kacaan or Siyaad. In fact, during Siyaad's reign, he neglected Puntland and majority of Jubbaland. However, he sure did tamed Reer Cripple.

Siyaad Barre did an amazing job when it came to the economy and military. He sadly destroyed any potential Somalia had to become a democratic nation.

Coldon, Somalia at that time ( 1980's) was on par with other east african countries if not more advanced. Fast forward and we are rock bottom in every relevent category. A simple example is and this is a challenge : Tell me a country were Somalis are loved? They are killed in masses in South Africa and other African countries. They are treated like second class citizens in Arab countries, and even in the west they are systematically discriminated against. Back then Somalis were unknown quantity and it's an honor to claim Somali , now a lot of Somalis distance themselves from claiming their country
