A couple of other questions about the agenda now. You have said next year that you would repeal the healthcare vote. That's still your mission?

BOEHNER:

Well, I think the election changes that. It's pretty clear that the president was reelected, Obamacare is the law of the land. I think there are parts of the healthcare law that are gonna be very difficult to implement. And very expensive. And as the time when we're tryin' to find a way to create a path toward a balanced budget everything has to be on the table.

SAWYER:

But you won't be spending the time next year trying to repeal Obamacare?

BOEHNER:

There certainly may be parts of it that we believe-- need to be changed. We may do that. No decisions at this point.

I knew they never had a chance they could repeal it, and even if they did, it's such a massive piece of legislation with parts of it popular that it could never really happen. I'm just glad they've given up and stopped.

Veiled, thank you, the thing is America is a socialist country, we just don't want to come to terms with it. Medicare, welfare, social security, unemployment, food stamps, housing subsidies, and then there is the welfare for farmers with their subsidies, oil companies with their tax breaks though they rake in billions in profits, we subsidize the millitary industrial complex with the most expensive millitary in the world, etc. The list is endless, but where the republicans draw the law is programs for the poor and needy.


NewHargeisagirl, since you didn't take american govt in elementary cuz you was in hargeisa, let me explain to you how the govt works. First a bill is drawn up by the legislature (congress) from either house or senate, then it has to be passed and sent to the other house and that house has to be approved, once congress approves it they send it to the presidents desk and he can sign it or veto it. So the question that begs to be asked is, how can a republican majority house pass a bill that the democratic majority senate and democratic president are both against? hmmmmm????

Your best chance was the supreme court and they upheld the law, and you lost the crucial race in the senate and presidency, your game is over.

House Republicans have two years and if they do not get immigration reform passed, tax reform passed, and an energy bill passed, they will lose a lot of seats in 2014.

Obama doesn't care about re-election anymore. He's in his last term and he kind of has an upper hand but now he's focused on his legacy so he needs to show some leadership
