at the same time, how are they going to get their land back by using small arms and make shift rockets?Shirib wrote:Jews shoulda met Hitler with non violence resistance
its like bringing a tooth pick to a gun fight, there's no way to defeat Israel in a one on one conflict

But you can't tell people who are constantly be killed, their homes being destroyed, land being taken, to not fight back. How do you non violently resist, when your homes are being destroyed, land is being seized, and you're constantly being targeted and killed.
This isn't segregation or apartheid, its outright genocidal. Plan is to completely get rid of the Palestinians.
Death on your feet is better than living on your knees
Re: Palestine's hope is non-violent Resistance.
Can we drop this 'non violent resistance' nonsense now?A new military order will take effect this week, enabling the army to deport tens of thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank and prosecute them on infiltration charges, which carry long prison terms. The order, uncovered by Amira Hass in Haaretz yesterday, bears the signature of Maj. Gen. Gadi Shamni in his previous capacity as commander of the Israel Defense Forces in Judea and Samaria.

A Russian migrant in the West Bank said that Gaza should be leveled as Russia leveled Chechnia in the 90's. Isreali is run and full of people like that. You cannot reason with that mentality.

You cannot agree to a ceasefire with a people who want to kill you. This isn't an issue of racial segregation, but ethnic cleansing. I've used that example as well, but in different context.
Re: Palestine's hope is non-violent Resistance.
Lotsa good-hearted but naive people up in this thread.
Hard Truth #1: Barring direct divine intervention(ie, mucjiso on the same scale as the parting of the seas) , the murderous Zionist entity is here to stay. Forever. It will not collapse like South African apartheid. It has one of highest growth rate of any economy and world-class R&D sector. Top scientists in multiple fields from around the world go there to learn. Does that sound like a regime on a downward slope?
It doesn't even need Western backing to survive. Even if it is abandoned by each and every one of it's allies, it will still endure because of:
Hard Truth #2: The minute Israel acquired nuclear weapons in the '70s was the minute that it ensured it's permanency. Even if the 1.5 billion muslims unite under a single umbrella, all it has to do is deploy it's submarines in the Red Sea, Persian Gulf, and Indian Ocean and say : "Your move, maafakas. You can roll back your armies, or say hello to mutually assured destruction"
Hard Truth#3: The Palestinian demographic/birth rate advantage can easily be neutralized by importing accomplished and educated Jews from all around the world with incentives.
Hard Truths suck. They're painful and humiliating and depressing, but only fools would continue to ignore evident reality and keep banging their heads against a Iron Dome of overwhelming military superiority and technological dominance, thinking that somehow they will 'win' because they are a) Muslim b) oppressed people c) have the upper moral hand. Morality means shit-all. Go ask the residents of Baghdad in the 13th century what morality or religion did for them when Mudane Genghis came a-calling.
The time to defeat the Zionist entity was in 48 and 67, but thanks to pathetic Arab leadership, and the consistent betrayal & treachery by the Arab ruling class, Palestine was lost and so was Baytul Maqdis.
It's the way of the world. Tyranny & Evil almost always win. Feel-good stories of victory and triumph is for children and suckers. We need to come to grips with the cold hard truths that surround us, both as Somalis and as Muslims. Baytul Maqdis wasn't lost in a day. It took centuries of concerted effort via political engagement and activism, via accumulating wealth and influence before the Zionists were able to secure a foothold in Falastiin. What wasn't lost in a day, won't be regained in a day.....or a century, for that matter. Ask the Cherokee or the Mohicans. Or the Kurds. Or the Oromo.
Palestinians need to unite, get rid of M.Abbas and Fatah and the other lapdogs of Israel, come to the negotiating table and secure the best realistic deal possible, and start working on building a future for their people. The dreamy romanticism of futile resistance will only guarantee more deaths, more devastation, and more societal dysfunction. Else, we'll continue to see the willful slaughter of Palestinian infants on live TV
all the while, fat Arab bastards(rulers and scholars alike) preen, strut, and posture about the "plight of Palestine".

Re: Palestine's hope is non-violent Resistance.
Pretty much what Leftist said, minus the points on Palestinian demographics being trumped by "importing accomplished and educated Jews". The only Jews that have been pouring into the country were those seeking opportunity. Israel itself believes it has a doctor shortage, though they've got slightly more per capita then Britain.
I also disagree that they don't need western backing to survive. They're running on few natural resources. They're already being saved by US gas companies. Then there's the water issue.
But this:
Israel's here to stay.

But this:
...won't happen. The only method of finding recognition would be through global political consensus. It seems that's the direction we're headed.Palestinians need to unite, get rid of M.Abbas and Fatah and the other lapdogs of Israel, come to the negotiating table and secure the best realistic deal possible, and start working on building a future for their people.

Fatah decided to pursue non-violence and what has it gotten them, Israel is colonizing the west bank as fast as they can.
This is what non-violent resistance has gotten Fatah:

On the other hand, Hamas and their hard-nosed stance towards Israel, actually forced them to remove settlements.
