Joke.

It's challenging and great at the same time. Much easier without kids involved though.

I'll advise you to enjoy your single life until your late 20s atleast.

AW's Quick Meals:

1. Tilapia, Mash Potatoes, Mixed Veggies (25 minutes)

Unfreeze the tilapia. Spice the Tilapia with Goya mix, red peppers, black peppers and ground cardomom. Unthaw bag of unfrozen mixed veggies. Heat oven to 300F. Add tilapia to baking with a small amount of canola oil to prevent the fish from sticking to it. Let it cook for 15 minutes and check on it often. Add canola oil to skillet, heat it, add mixed veggies, add some ground black peppers a little Goya while stirring the mixed veggies. Taste and if you want add some salt. In the meantime, set 3 cups of water to boil and once boiling add two spoons of butter. Turn off the flame after it boils rapidly, Add the instant mashed potatoes and stir adding a 1 cup of milk. Keep stirring until you get it to the consistency you like. Remove the tilapia and voila, you have your meal.

2. Chicken Alfredo (25 minutes)

Well, if you want to really speed things up, get some Alfredo sauce, precooked sliced chicken breast strips, and some linguine pasta. Boil the water for the pasta and add it. Nuke the chicken strips until they are warm. Once the pasta is ready, pour it out into a baasto miir and add the alfredo sauce to the pot, heat the pot then add the chicken. once it gets all nice and warm, pour the pasta in and mix it all together. This is the least difficult meal ever.

Anarchist,

Its always good to experiment. I learned how to even use a charcoal stove and made my first laxoox.

Muraxow,

Just watch out for cholesterol, them diabetes and high blood pressure. The three are the leading cause of ill health among Ahlu Luggo basto. I weigh myself every day. I focus on eating a high fiber diet each day and this helped me overcome serious acid reflux. I went from popping prilosec every day to being cured in just 1 month.

@Murax - It's really all about a healthy balance between regular exercise and eating healthy. Medicine in this country follows a strict rule of "a pill for every ill" and in an age where most illnesses in this country are almost exclusively lifestyle related e.g. type 2 diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune disorders, coronary artery disease and even cancer (specially colon cancer which has been linked to high consumption of deli meats) are all linked to processed foods & their mass consumption, one can not take enough precautions to be proactive. More than the exercise, it's the foods that we eat & the foods that we don't eat that play a crucial role. High carb, high sodium, high fructose corn syrup, etc is just not sustainable for the human body. Sooner or later, all these foods we abuse will manifest themselves in one form or another in our bodies and by then it might be irreversible.

Small steps (e.g. walking 30 mins a day & eating healthy meals) as a means to sustained long-term goals for healthy living are better than any pill a doctor might offer. Not worth it.

Anarchist,

I was diagnosed with extreme colon irritation and I had to up my dosage of fiber which was a challenge in the Bariis and Baasto of Mudug. So I decided to eat cambuulo and galay, 5 times a week. In a matter of 1 week, I had no irritation at all. My GI was great and I continued my diet.

Haa brother, cunto kariska waa lagu qasban yahay in la barto to be self-sufficient and save money, there is also health aspect to cooking your own food. It is also a skill which comes in handy when your wife gives birth or gets sick, you need to help with the kitchen(only occassions I would cook anyway for a woman if I had to).

I am down for being a helper in the kitchen and hand the spoon, the knife, taste what is being cooked and make positive comments etc to Zeliha if I were her Husband. Qoftaan waa Sexy looking at her food pics and cute Afsoomaali :D

Zeliha

If you aren't going to eat what a man cooked(as you said in another thread), and you cook this good, your man is lucky. He doesn't have to raise a finger in the kitchen but be xaadir with an empty stomach to feast onto your cutely done cunto :rose:
