I'm unemployed and i recieve allowance from the college, and if i save up until easter i'll have enough to buy a plane ticket, my mother's telling me to go to Al-Ain in UAE and visit my grandmother, whilst my mates are telling me to buy a provisional and start steering the wheel,Which will leave me -£50 short of buying a ticket, my parents won't add sums because they already buying me a ticket to the motherland in the summer, so this is solely my situation i've been to the UAE loads of times but i've never seen my extended family there, so should i go and visit them or buy a learners license?

How about you do some paid chores for your folks or other people like the lawn or something to earn the $50 you are short? You can earn it somehow, it isnt awhole lot of money.

Shes not technically my grandmother, she's my mom's mom's sister, but in somali i haven't heard a word for that, plus add to that she got 8 kids and their dad is yemeni, if i go in that house i'll look like a stranger.

While you are doing your studies, try to get a weekend or evening job mate, thats the solution. It'll do you good in the long run, then you can do all three including vising your greataunt
