Somali clan Akisho (var. Akisha , Akishe ; also known as Gurre ) is a Somali subclan , part of the larger Dir group whose members live in Ethiopia and Somaliland .
The Akisho are a sub clan of the Ali Madaxweyn Dir, and they are reputed to be descendants of the eldest sons of the Madaxweyn Dir. Akisho is one of
the oldest clans in the Horn of Africa.

Theirs only one Akishe clan, who are belong to Madaxweyn Dir, whom contributed to 1977 war, some of you don't know who Saynab Haji Ali Baxsan is, she escaped imprisonment, while her sister unfortunately along with her entire family were killed merciless at the hands Amahara. Nevertheless, she's well known Akishe, along with another faanan, which I can't recall her name.Mondey wrote:i think there is two akisho clans.
