In Which, Voltage announces almost every month of the year that "the fall of Baardheere is imminent" and "Baardheere will be liberated in two weeks". The young man may be an ardent tribalist, but a Nate Silver, he is not.

....We are on the cusp.

This is a political problem and not a military one. But Gedo forces are making great gains, and are positioning themselves for a major offensive to rid alshabab once and for all. We are within days not weeks, mins not hours, before Gedo is liberated.

I really dont know what kind of Voodoo stuff alshabaab did in places like Baardheere, Buuloburde, Maxaas and Ceelbuur but its working. They brainwashed the people so perfectly that only the infants must be raised as shabaabists.

PO,

Not so fast. Gedo is the most consistently pro-Islam region in Somalia. You conveniently forget that at a time when other Somalis were butchering each other on "yaa tahay", there was a thriving Islamic emirate in Luuq where all were welcome. Seculars like Maslax and Hiiraale are empty figureheads being propped up by those still dreaming of a bygone era. Young Voltage's Jubbaland State of Kenya(<-- always makes me lol) is another iteration of that dream. But it's high time to wake up.

The only way the cigaal shidaad militias in Dollow will win is if a) they are chaperoned, like a virgin, to Baardheere by Ethiopian/Kenyan tanks or b) AlShabab continues to self-implode with it's idiotic policies and extremism.

But since you're so confident, give me a approximate date: May? August?

Kismayo is like the hot looking woman that every guy wants. Bardheere is the fat woman who you never be caught dead with in public but wouldn't mind breaking off in private.

The Bravado Bros :meles:

Gedo Forces are still to capture a single important site despite backing from Kenyan as well as Ethiopian troops. On the other hand, Ras Kamboni Al Commandos and the Swahili Muslim Army have captured a whole region within a few months. History teaches us that it is impossible to take over & hold territory without the backing of the local population, surely the success of Jabhad Ar-Ras Kamboni shows that the natives are fully behind them regardless of tribal affiliations. Verily Jabhad-u-Kamboni has been good to the people.

Leftist, you have hit the nail on the head on this one. Yes, Baardheere is a complex situation that needs a complex solution to answer it. That is why it must be dealt with in a delicate manner, but she will be much worth it. Baardhere opens a direct road to Kismaayo, connecting Gedo with it. It helps facilitate troops the ever more quickly, if the need arises. That is why marexaan will, and must capture Baardhere. I say within the Month, or the coming one. But Mark my words, you will see a liberated Baardheere.
