Co-Signing on Student Loans!

Post by AbdiWahab252 »

Beware of doing such a thing ! I have seen too many parents who signed off as co-signers on their children's student loans and then end up being held liable for the payments when their children fail to make payments. The private loans are the worst especially those from Sallie mae with their high interest rates. If you can't afford to go to an expensive school, go some place cheaper rather than majoring in debt and trying to figure how to pay $90,000 in loans for that Psychology degree !!

Any of you folks asked your parents to cosign ?

Abdiwahab252,

I'm from the old school bruh. These spoiled arse brats today are something else. You go to school for You not Your Parents therefore its on You to procure the resources to go there. How the hell can someone ask their Parents to sign.

lol @ old School ! Then I must be Old University. But I get your point. Some of these youngins think university is a 4 year vacation from reality using the pockets of Sallie Mae/FederalGovernment. I choked my nephew when he came up with the notion of going to Georgetown and running up $20,000 in loans each year. I shipped his monkey arse to a full scholarship university in Northern Maine near Canada which gave him a full ride. The only thing that sucks is the long drive but he won't be broke as a joke.

I paid my school fees when I was in Africa. I couldn't even sit my finals until I hustled my bananalord uncle who paid for my exams. I will always remember his kindness and for paying my ticket to leave. When I came to this blessed nation, I looked for all kinds of scholarships and did all kinds of hustles. I was fortunate to get some great mentors especially this old cadaan couple who really knocked on doors.

P.S. Since you are into dating women with college degrees, don't marry any until you assess how much debt she is carrying because she can spread her debts to you. Better a Xalimo who works @ Macys Clocking 9.50 with zero debt than Cambaro making $45K with $90,000 @ 9.25%.

  Just cause she doesn't have any debt and works at Macy's doesn't mean she won't run you 90k @ 9.25%.

Murax,

Take notes and spread the word. You didn't do 4 years @ GMU, live at home all 4 years, drove a beater to work for years just for some honey with cute smile and nice booty to make it disappear.

Lihalliliya,

Darling, I am a fiscal conservative, to the right of the Conservatives. I will put her on an allowance and our accounts will be segregated. She spends more than she has that is her problem not mine.

^ What's the difference then :? You're still spending the same amount of money.

AW: Men generally are "fiscally conservative" (aka stingy), but as the French say "petit a petit" :blessed: Starts off with separate accounts, then she's a secondary cardholder under you Visa, then under your AMEX, then she's signing her name right under yours on the mortgage papers :blessed:

Lihalliliya,

She can try. But she has a better chance of me giving up my qabiil before making me part with my hard earned coins. I am not cheap and will spend some $$ on her but at my choosing. But I have seen sisters act all clever and try to seize up a Farax's assets just like what happened to my boy Alkoolow. Fortunately, he had me and with consultations with my Kenyatti divorce attorney friend, we were able to ward off her attacks when the divorce came.

Lillahliya,

They had other serious issues but it came to a head. I knew something was brewing when he told me she demanded to be on the house's title, then again asked him to buy her a $40,000 vehicle, all of these purchases always came after a fight. I told Alkoolow to kick her to the curb after she had the first kid but he was a sucker for love :blessed:
