ciyaal warta, it's not his fault my brother remembers the old Mogadishu, as opposed to the modern one. And believe me, he has no desire of returning anytime soon. If it wasn't for his father who got suddenly ill, he would of never went.

I think the only people who can appreciate my brothers sentiments are A/W and Kambuuli. Abdiwahab at least has seen Xamar before the civil war, during it, during warlord phase, ICU, Ethiopian, Alshabab phase, and the present one. So he comes from a richer view and can see the small improvements, hence him saying "best in the last 2 decades". Kambuuli unfortunately hasn't been back to Xamar since she left, and therefore has not seen the reality of the city with her own eyes, and though she knows that it is in a terrible condition, her judgement has been filtered through positive reports coming from it, which I believe might be supplied by people like Abdiwahab.

Kambuuli, eedo macaan, when you go and visit xamar, then let us know what you think.

Ciyaal warta, you come from the generation who grew up in Xamar, so you have your own subjective view. I'm not saying your view invalidates my brother's, but both are legitimate.
