greek society at that time was basically bi sexual, so its not hard to believe, and the histroy of alexander was written by several different writers near his time, its not new.
The Zul qarnain story is from the quran but it has nothing to do with alexander.
This idea came about because Yusuf ali the translator of the quran in english, wrote an essay about this in his commentaries.
He thought it might be possible that zulqarnain was alexader becasue of some similiarities, like the "Qarnain" the horns, the one with two horns.
Qarnain can mean both era or land.
Alexader wore a crown of two horns , given to him in egypt symbolizing the conquest of 2 parts of the known world, egypt and the persian empire.
Yusuf ali also thought that it was more likely that zul qarnain was a pre historic figure that lived before the prophet adam, at least 3000 BC.
