There were some muslims who thought Alexander The Great himself was the man mentioned in the Quran who ruled the earth from corner to corner, namely, THULQARNAYN or The Two Horned. There are too many myths you can't accept as facts. the best thing is to accept what you find in the Quran and in the Autheticated Sunnah, then leave the rest alone.
Gama---No walahi..I was quite shocked as well till i took Philosophy and read some of Plato's work. Even though it seems that it was tampered with (it's 1000's of years old), many of their ideas and their thinking doesn't conflict with Islam..and then i read somewhere that some early Ulemas thought they were Prophets.
Nonsense! Plato's work wasn't 'tampered' with. Where did you get this?
Yes, Plato, socrates, aristotle, Ptolemy and all other the greek philosophers held different views of the world then the quran.
Ibn Sina, a free thinker, was follower of socrates. That is why he was declared a heretic by Ghazzali.

Lion thats outragous
do you believe everything you read, that article is sensationalist and has
little historical accuracy. Many greek philosophers leaned towrds monothiesm, socrates was an agnostic, he didnt believe in the gods and didnt even care.
are you a somali convert to the druze religion by the way.
The druze in thier semi-secret religion believe that aristotole was a prophet.

Dhuuso--All that shit has been tampered with. If the old testament and new testament were tampered with, what makes plato's work so special?

so your sole reason for assuming the works of greek philosophers were tampered with is becuz the OT and NT were tampered with as well. What a poor reasoning!
There is NO evidence to suggest that the works of greek philosophers were tampered with. The only way to determine that is to find two separate inconsistant works by the same author. None has been found so far.
Did i offer any reasoning for why i think it was tampered with?
I believe their work was tampered with because some of the things they believed in are the same in Islam while other things are in direct conflict with Islam.
then you could have equally assumed that the author's of the quran took some of the greek philosopher's works.
