You were more than happy to refer to someone as mixed race.BlackVelvet wrote:Thug, before you identify with a word you should know where it came from and what it means. We are in Europe so you know that even in forms they still have to add - African in the ethnicity section. Even then I find the black in the tag offensive though I choose not to be offended.
Taking away someone's cultural identity and simply calling them "black" acts as an oppressive tool in itself. In this country though you might refer to someone as "black" etc in a conversation it is not what identifies them. When it comes down to it you know/find out if the person you are talking about is Jamaican or Nigerian. That is the difference between Europe and America.
Even other snetters referred to players by name or country of origin.BlackVelvet wrote:Exactly.garoweboy wrote:Torres is on the bench.
Take Klou out and bring in the Spaniard.
Who's the mixed race guy with the big hair, he's going to cost Chelsea a penalty.

Somalis however reject such ethnocentric 'labels' such as 'black' - no such race exists. We are Muslim. Somali. Clan [Gaadabuursi, etc}. Arab.( due to clan origination ) - and African geographically.
Black and proud etc is a defense mechanism and reaction that has led to an inferiority complex derived from colonialism and racism. Sad.
90% of the horn of Africa will agree with such sentiments. And a substantial size of those in the west.

Tell me, why is it you post about being considered Arab in Libya one minute, and articles of abuse at the hands of Arabs the next? Why do you confuse Lebanese singers with Egyptians?igotkatzngingersnapz wrote:

Urgh, you see every thread don't you as multiple characters? I was starting to like Negritude, but the illusion of crapzandsnaps just cringes me now.igotkatzngingersnapz wrote:You can't read, can you?
