West, Native Americans have some of the worst alcohol abuse, obesity, and social problems. Their women suffer the most domestic violence, their children are the least educated and have the worst substance abuse problems. They also suffer terrible unemployment.

The Native American diet consists of booze and cigarettes. They are the worst off people in North America. They live worse than the recently arrived poor immigrants. No one lives like them. They live in 3rd world conditions in their reserves. Majority of them live in reserves. Depending on the area of the country you live in, you either might see them often or possibly never ever see them. If there is a reserve near you and you're in the city, the more likely you'll see them in the city.

Reservations are the land that was allocated to them when America took most of their land. They were forced to move there, but now it is under their Tribal authority with different laws, taxes, police and administration. Each tribe has their own separate autonomous authority. But since they haven't been able to develop any kind of jobs and infrastructure for their people, they use their special status to build casinos. They make a lot of money and the tribe divides the profits to the tribes people. So a lot of them living in the reservations get all this income, thousands every month, but with no job, a bad schools. A lot of liquor stores made their way there, and there you have the beginnings to abuse. Also, easy access to fast food, and a different metabolism that stores fat has lead to high obesity, heart disease, and diabetes.

Those that can move out, but since a lot of them aren't equipped with the right education and skills set, it's easier to just stay in the reservations with the income from the tribal authority. Also, most of the reservations are located in the central regions of America, and those are the places with the least development, smallest populations, and worst job opportunity.

They are a broken people, with no connection to their past and no future. This what happens when you cut away a peoples identity.
