reemergence of South Yemen possible impact on Somalia.
What do you think?
Currently in Yemen, there is a lot of hate and tension going on the country. Yemen have not moved on forwards in terms of ecomically and socially since the union in 1990. Now, the secconsists in south yemen want to see independence for South Yemen however the rest opposes this but do oppose the leadership in Yemen.
Are you for this? Do you want South Yemen to become a sovereignt nation again? Will this in turn, drive and fuel Somaliland's determination for independence back in Somalia? Will this complicate matters with maritime sea boundaries and fishing industries with South Yemen? Will it create another safe haven for terrorists which is especially dangerous because Somalia is a next door neighbour. South yemens under the communist rule aided Ethiopia in the Ogaden 1977 war, do you think they'll be a key alley to Ethiopia and make way for Ethiopia's better relations with the arabs?
What do you think? I oppose South Yemenes ambition for independence because it will defenitely fire up Somaliland and it i'll make Somalias relations with Yemen very diffucult.

I support the independence of south Yemen they were never really part of north Yemen , but the north Yemenis conquered the Southerners. I support anything that weakens the Yemeni state. The Yemenis have been anti Somaliland, and subcontracted their foreign policy to the Egyptian foreign policy. Yes i say tear it apart Yemen. South Yemen and Somaliland can become allies in the region Somalilanders always had good relations with Adan.

I hope it never happens, Yemen must now draft a new fair constiution for the whole of the country and kick out the secconsists in the southern area.khalid ali wrote:I support the independence of south Yemen they were never really part of north Yemen , but the north Yemenis conquered the Southerners. They will always fall back to the old secession aspirations the southerners as long as the northerners dominate the political arena in Yemen. The southerners when they were a state they even smuggled weapons funded NDF rebels a war against the norther government. They southerners created a union in 1990 but they found out they were tricked few years later they fought for independence again. Bu they already gave in their sovereignty and it was hard for them to fight the dominant north in secession. We shall see what the future brings Yemen is a very poor country population is large. It will be very hard how they can remain one country in the future.

If somalis had balls and brains, they would have annexed southern yemen (including Socotra) ages ago. But they are more content with statelessness and abject poverty.

South Yemen should be given its independence.
South Yemen has been unfairly treated by the north during this disastrous union in which the north has exploited the southern region's natural resources. I believe it is in my personal interests as a Somali to have a developed South Yemen with stable relations. I am already aware the region of Puntland has strong ties with Yemen as a whole which goes back a few decades due to the existence of the Kacaan, but also before hundreds of years due to trade and cultural ties. Thousands of Mehri live in the region. Socotra archipelago is only a hundred and odd kilometres from the shores, so it is vital to have good relations to make sure such strategic shores are safeguarded.
Yemen's internal strives are too deep seated to be solved due to the economic situation. It has an exploding population, and the oil reserves will dry up very soon (2017), if Somalia gets back on its feet with a booming economy, millions of Yemeni might descend of our shores unless the situation is fixed if that is the case I hope they run as far south as south goes like wildings.

South yemen would be somalilands closest ally.
They still remember the help given to them during the civil war.

Gacanyare,
I support some types of secessionism like iranian muslims seceding from iranian mushriks, iraqi sunnis and iraqi kurds seceding from iraqi rafidha mushriks.
Also chechnia seceding from russia.
But i dont support cagdheer seceding from xabashi. Let them be under slavery, that way they cant support this fake jubbaland with money and weapons.
I also support the confederates seceding from the american unionists.
But i will never support kurds seceding from Turkey.
