Somalia and kenya have reached a mutual understanding yesterday in nairobi in wich the somali govt would be able to carry its national stabilization plan without problems coming from the kenyan side. Its unknown if there was some compromise but it seems that kenya has lost all the other doors to interest in somalia and now is communicating through the official channels.

nicholas kay says in this interview that the somali government has its own plans and strategies and that his role is to provide a technical assistance so these plans and policies can come to a realization.
He said he supports the IGADs 5 points, the understanding that is going on between somalia and kenya revealing that another meeting is about to take place within next two days between the two countries.
He said Its still too early to talk about it as its his first day and that he met the govt officials and would like to hear from all sides.
He said 3 UNSOM branches have been opened today in garoowe, baydhaba and hargaysa in somaliland.
