British police investigating a spectacular robbery yesterday in a London shopping center. Six men dressed in burqa and armed with axes entered into a establishment and stole several luxury watches, according to Scotland Yard statement.

Two men were arrested after the robbery, committed shortly before 20.30 in the famous shopping center located in Selfridges, Oxford Street , the main commercial street of the capital of United Kingdom .

The two suspects, who fell off the motorcycle on which they attempted to flee after the robbery, were detained by bystanders until police arrived, they stopped and found the stolen watches.

One of them went straight to court, while the other had to go to hospital for a possible broken leg.

Criminals, disguised as women with full Islamic veil, had smashed the windows of jewelry with an ax before fleeing on motorcycles driving their accomplices. The amount of the stolen is unknown at the moment, as reported by the police.

"This is a blatant theft appears to have been well planned and thought out. Fortunately no one was hurt," he said today Scotland Yard inspector Andy Noyes, who has said that at the time the facility was "very busy".

Noyes has appealed to potential witnesses and thanked bystanders who intervened to arrest suspects for their "spirit and
courage."
