This is Australian politics today. Both parties including the “leftist” Union party in Labor are appealing to the lowest common denominator. These asylum seekers and refugees are the focal point of Australian politics not the economy, cost of living, fiscal status of the budget and development but ‘boat people”. This is what the election will be decided on. This is very disappointing from a country like Australia. An advanced developed nation with the mentality of 1950’s America.
