You are allowed to eat the food of the people of the book. And there is no issue going to interfaith dialogues. It's good for Muslims to communicate with other people of different faiths. There should be peace between us all.

Wrong. You aren't allowed to eat pork, non-Zabiha halal meat, (many) food that contain lard, etc, or drink alcoholic beverages.

Not so. We aren't even willing to marry a Muslima who drinks, clubs, slept with many men, etc--how can we marry a non-Muslima who believes in the concept of Trinity, is atheist, agnostic or Darwinist?

Arabman, I didn't vote for Obama last cycle. Reasons are plenty but I don't believe in the establishment since its all a show.

And I took part in the interfaith dialogue with my MSA. Is it now suddenly forbidden to get to know people and break bread with them?

You put Obama in office during the election that counted. I don't know if taking part in interfaith dialogues is forbidden. What I know is, a conservative Muslim wouldn't take part in such dialogues if certain parties are present. The man with the highest IQ, Stephen Hawkings, recently boycotted an Israeli conference.
