After the fact, this is going to sound disingenuous, but you did notice that every bit of that was illegal under US law?

It was the Cold War. Did you notice how Stockwell keeps coming back to the Soviet Union? What did Somalia loose when they changed sides?

For comparison, estimates of total losses in WWII range from 60-85 million, way more civilians than military. The Cold War was nasty, but relatively tame as it was fought through proxies. The principals did not dare attack each other.

It's not as simple as you seem to want to make it. The Cold War dominated international relations for 35 years, most of it underground. The US was not the sole player.

Comparative culpability should not be an issue. It was war. Bad things happened to a lot of good people. It lasted 35 years and there are differences of opinion over criminality and the awards due heroes. I am not minimizing the part the US played in this. We won.

It so happens I agree with you on Waco, and would add Ruby Ridge; but your understanding of Oklahoma City is incorrect and I doubt Wikipedia history will agree with your assessments of government officials who implement government policy.
