Somali business people, Soo gala! need Business idea's!

Post by Individual »

Brother's and sisters with business experience, I want to start a business in Somalia but I have no idea what kind of business is needed in Somalia cities like Xamar, Garowe, Bossaso, Kismayo, Hargeisa etc!

So please share with me your ideas in business and experiences you have!

Is $30,000 enough for starting a business in (Somalia) Mogadishu and such, and what business would you start if you had $30,000 capital!

Anyone that could share his business ideas and experience for starting a business in Somalia is welcoming here;

Thanks in advance Guys  ;)

That is just 30 camels price

Not big money in somalia but it would in south sudan

Needs skills too so you can do it by yourself

Let us say the capital is $20 to 25,000 as you need to pay the rent wich will cost over $300 per month in the center.

I disagree with Sahal.

There is no such thing as too little or too big capital in business. You have to know what you want before you set yourself a bench mark such as this $30k. For sure you can start a business in Somalia for as little as $1000 and as big as a million. It all comes down to what you want to do, what you know and is there a market.

You can start a clothing shop for as little as $5k but if you want to open a small factory/plant you need at least $600k.

You should know what you want.

I can start a lucrative business for $30k in Somalia easily.

Some niggaz start their businesses for as little as $500 and today worth close to a million. I know few.

Some businesses have huge start up cost and some don't. Also you can always do shares and get your family to invest...friends.

Of course all these guys in south africa have started it with nacnac

To make real business you need to have good funds, take example dahabshiil who as heard only had one bakhaar in hargeysa before taking advantage of the 88 war and expanding his goods and services to the refugee camps to cover their basic needs

Or sh nuur jimcaale who was back then bassed in saudi arabia and was the first to open hawala in the late 80s, a system he found out some ajnabi communities using it in there before taking advantage of the state collapse

Clothing shops are women business in somalia and there are no big chances for men

This amount would be good for to open a mobile shop if you have the skills and have a link with a people who are importing the latest from china, this business is doing well in somalia.

Not true. Business is all about ideas and ideas are endless. Some ideas are money and some cost peanuts while many a free. You just need to take many roads in life to cross into one that will take you into promise land.

I don't know wtf your talking about

If you have even $50,000, you can pay a share of big business.

Say 4 of us want to open a construction company, the first house will cost us $200,000 and will sell it $300,000 to $400,000 and as soon we got 4 houses each will take one house!

Now how did we reached that top? Of course by having good funds!

Hawdian, Sahal, and many others thank you for contributing!

My current business idea is to start a Computer cafe business, but the only obstacle I face is shall I rent a building for my business or shall I buy my own land and build my business there!

So guys if I was to buy a land, how much would it cost?

Again thanks in advance guys for your contribution

individua, where in back home you want to do your business? mogadishu?

in general, somalilands, broad bands, or wifi is not in every house hold and still you can make money out if cofee shops/ internet shops. youth are addicted internet and every cofe shop ive been in jigjiga, diredaba, hargeysa, borama even djibouti were full. some times you have to wait your turn an hour long.

just make it little fancy, with comfy seats, and aside make it like Starbuck style coffee/pastry service.

i swear i felt, i could improve each of them i have been with minimum cost and make so much money out of it.

where ever you want , will be good idea. specially kismayo. with all wars back and forth with different sides past 22 years. it's good idea to start business. cause was no peace or stability in the past. in 2005 or 06' my cousin who is a doctor in riyad, saudi arabia, just snapped and wantedto leave saudi arabia and start clinic there. bought all the expensive medical equipment and shipped, ended up loosing it cause of ethiopian invasion against alshabab. poor guy lost all his life savings of 17+years and still works the same hospital in riyad!

peace and security is the keys. meel an piece laheyn, donot risk your life savings.
