Aniga my opinion in this is "sometimes ilaahay baa wax kuu diida for your own good in order to protect you from that which you do not know" therefore as much as i would have liked this to succeed, i have to be content with how it turned out to be.

My thought on this is, I knew it was forthcoming and I was expecting this. I'm not surprised at all. Village-dom policies and TNCs dont speak the same language. We have a Anglo-Turkish firm that wants to go global and dominate the region trying to speak the language of few tribal figureheads on retreat...closing every possible border...ideologically, economically, culturally, politically and physically.

The definition of TNCs or Multinational Corporations is:
a corporation that is registered in more than one country or that has operations in more than one country. It is a large corporation which both produces and sells goods or services in various countries.[2] It can also be referred to as an international corporation.

They play an important role in globalization.
- Wikipedia.

And we have Somaliland claiming that one tribe can stand alone in this seas of globalization. Of course Genel realized the reality and discovered it can't work with tribes waring over land, water, well and camels. It needs insurance, international contact, protection, access to international laws and venues. See if any of its staff were killed in Somali Republic, then it has the opportunity to sue Somali government on international venues.

SL people just need to learn the realities and understand politics 101. If you want to do business, do business with your likes like small village firms. Shinbirba shinbiirkisu la dula....birds of the same feather flock together.

Finally the video is great and the kids have spoken well. My favorite one is the guy who said "niyadi bay naga jabiyen". All youth in the north are demoralized because they are tired of isolation and never ending lies. Been kastaba dabo la qabtay ledahay. Slowly day by day, Somalis in that region are catching the tail of this great deception.

22 years of manufactured lies and failures. Germany is going to build coal powerstation in Berbera...fashiil. France is going to invest $180m in Berbera...fashiil....EU is building Berbera corridor fashiil...Egal Airport under construction fashiil...oil ba la soo saraya fashiil...Berbera cement ba la so celinaya fashiil....how many more do they need before they see this big riwayaad?

I hope LeJusticier doesn't delete this for he hates to hear the truth and he hates seeing liberated Isaaq who think outside the politics of isolation. He feels he is being abandoned

I don`t think this was about the local infighting.
The legal authority of all Somalia is the Somali Federal Govt.

^Can't say I disagree with this.

Maybe in another 10 years or so when we've calmed
down a bit

Laakin I would like to know the reason why they left.
I know villagers were shooting at them and every jilib
was claiming "You can't dig my land without our permission"

But Warancade claimed the beef was sorted and the reason
they left is due to something else.

Yes I agree after all we would still not lose anything...the oil is still on the ground.
however I hear the wanlaweyne's are celebrating this news....I will celebrate with them knowing that the project would still go on in the years to come.. Lol

If there is oil, it should be extracted only by a Somali company and after we've developed our energy sector, which would take decades. We can wait though.

In the meantime, we should invest in our people, our greatest resource. Mass primary school and training projects should be at the forefront of government interests.

It is mainly to do with some possible security threats and external politics.

The security issues I understand, what external politics are you talking about?

Well Genel Energy is co -owned by Turkey and Britain, two countries that have been getting closer to Mogadishu in recent years. The foreign minister of Somaliland
and the minister of minerals and resources are now going to the headquarters of Genel in UK to find out the real reason, they have also appointed a lawyer.

Interesting ....Laakin I think we should wait before
we jump the gun and start blaming outsiders.

I've heard many reasons as to why they left, from
security reasons to Ina Cali Xaaji Xassan wanting a cut.
So far we only have rumours.

That too, too many corrupted officials in Siilaanyo's government. They left their biggest camp in eastern Togdheer and even Caynabo.
