Saacid cannot resign.

Even if he has to leave, let Parliament give him a vote of no confidence.

-Parliament makes Laws
-Prime Minister is Head of Government and is the head of the Executive
-President is Head of State and represents the nature and defense of the People

I am glad that proper constitutional roles are finally being debated. Saacid said this is not a political crisis but a CONSTITUIONAL crisis.

The Speaker himself weighef in today and politically agreed with the Prime Minister.

We are in this mess because the President wanted to control who goes into the cabinet but an assertive Saacid using the constitution as a base said this is a job for only the PM to have final say.

Sure we were getting out of transition and our understanding of President is different than what is actually in our constitution, but the idea that a President who doesn't get his way will ask a PM to resign without any reason at all....is a dangerous precedent that cannot be set for the future Somalia.

Both the PM and Speaker have observed this.

Therefore the issue isn't about compromise but establishing the correct facilitation of constitutional roles.

Saacid cannot resign. It is too dangerous for the country for him to do so.

Take it to Parliament. Request a vote of confidence. If it is a no, then leave. If it is a yes, go back and build the cabinet and government you wanted.

The same problem has been occuring not only since the Kumeelgaar era but during the 60s too. If the President is not willing to respect his boundaries then why have a PM at all..

Is the constitution based on the 1961 or is it entirely different.
Somalia's constitution was a a parliamentary democracy with the President in a ceremonial role, like Israel, Pakistan and India.
Since there are no parties, and the parliament is clan based and the president is exercising executive powers , this does not look like the 1961 constitution, but whole other animal.

Gurey it's basically is but because the pm is selected directly and there is no party system, he doesn't have a base to stand on like the biggest party in Parliament.
