Siad barre's idol Ahmed gurey

Post by Casanova25 »

siad barre really saw up to this guy, and he thought that he were the true hero of somali nationalism and he want to be remembered like him.

so in 1971 he sent one of his righthand man to write a book about Ahmed gurey where he gathered many famous poets, and later on those poets exposed the entire plan. which was to give his tribe some kind of pride they didn't had before.. by claiming Ahmed gurey was Marehan and still until this day a popular believe amongst the mainstream marehans WHO don't seek knowlegde..

you have Guys like sadeboi, and voltage WHO have dedicated there entire life to this fake pride which back fired big time..

i was reading some of there old threads, alot of propaganda have been told, with no sources to back it up with.. they had a great opponent in djibsomali WHO also believed that the Imam was Dir, and since there base was awdal so the entire empire was dir according to him.

both sides agreed upon the list below..

1. the Empire was based on Dir land

2. there was no Ogaden involved both in the war and the empire its self..

3. No hawiye was involved in the battle or empire.

4. Isaaq habar magado, harti and marehan was involved in the battle.

5. nuur ibn mujahid was marehan

disagreement the list below and remember this was one of the longest internet battle between to Clans.

1. the marehan camp said he was marehan, and the dir camp said he was dir.

2. the dir said marehan was from gedo even in those days, so they came up with qoutes from the book futah.

3. the marehans said to counter dirs claim that he is Ciise mataan and came up with a abtirsi..

I really enjoyed reading it very funny indeed..

If I was online at that time would have asked them one question ''have anyone of you ever read the book?''

Igorance is common amongst the somali community.. they should seek knowlegde instead of assumptions

The Dir claim is the weakest claim. It isn't substantiated by anything besides Dir (Gudabiirsi and Ciise) today live around Zaylac which was part of the Adal empire.

I will correct you and say Hawiye is mentioned in the Futuh Al Habesha and many other historical manuscripts relating to the Imam's war although as a unit with no subclan named.

Dir nor Gudabiirsi are mentioned in anything.

Lol @ Siad Barre concocted the Marehan link. At least Marehan are prominent in the Imam's war and are cited in many historical records from the Futuh and elsewhere. He didn't just pull that out of his ass or had some poets write pieces.

I agree with you.. marehan have been mentioned and even nuur ibn mujahid was marehan?

do you know the qabiil of the sultans of the empire.. example Garad Mahfuz, and his son muhammed and even his forefathers??

We have heard many claims on his head, from different tribes, and
nations even the arabs had there own claims. so lets try to find the
truth.
1: Futah Al-Habashi: Quotes from the book will give us a guide
2: Axmed gurey's Cousin and Brother in other source Garad Abun.
3: Axmed gurey's birth place and city hubat (Hoobad)
4: Garad Ibrahim/ connections with the imam..
5: Ancient Oromo beliefs about Axmed Gurey
6: habasha books and ancient beliefs about Axmed gurey
7: the city of hubat and its peoples connection with the Imam..
8: WHO are the balaw tribe
NB: the most important are Garad Abuun and Imam Axmed gurey's
connections and there home city
in futuh al habasha there was no mention of the imams ethnicty,
However there are many referrences of his relatives who seem to
be from the belaw ethnicty
The imam was born in the city hubat located between zeilac and
harar, its ruler was the cheiftain of the belaw
Al futuh says: ''ibrahim bin ahmed ruler of the country of hubat of
The tribe of belaw''
this ibrahim ruler of hubat seems to be the imams father
Al futuh says: ''the imam was at that time knight under garaad
abun who loved him and show how courageous he was''
This is what some people told him. separating him and Garad
Mahfuz of the Walashma, and there only connection is thru
marriage. the Imam was married to his daughter bati al wambara
They gathered in Amajah where they stayed three days. It was one
of the towns in Abyssinia that had Muslims living in it. But it
belonged to the king. Its inhabitants then went to the imam Ahmad
and said, "The king of Abyssinia has a mighty force with him; the
number of his horses is incalculable. Only the Most High God
knows the number of his coats of mail, helmets, foot-soldiers and
shields made of hide. Your fathers, your ancestors, the emir `Ali,
the emir Mahfuz your father-in-law, along with Garad Ibrahim and
the sultans who long ago used to rule in the country of Sa`d ad-
Din - not one of them has ever attacked the king of Abyssinia in
his own country, in his own dwelling-place
this garaad abun seems his brother WHO have trained him. but the
futah says he is his cousin by the name of Garad abun ibn adash
of hubat as well. the futah never mentions him as a Brother but
cousin..
here is where it gets weird.. Ethiopian soldier or A king sends a
letter to Axmed gurey thru Arab fiqi WHO wrote the book futah, and
this letter is also used in the futah.. but he never corrects him.
''It was I who long ago killed your brother Garad Abun, son of
Garad Ibrahim, who was older than you in years. I routed his army,
and did so more than once. Don't imagine that I am like any of the
patricians whom you've encountered up till now. I am Wasan
Sagad''
Wasan Sagad says his Brother while arab fiqi claim as his cousin..
some one is misinformed they can not both be correct and it will
later on show that arab fiqi is correct. sinces he was with the
imam.
The futah goes on to praise Garad abun ibn adash and says that
he loved Axmed gurey
''After this Garad Abun came against him, and ruled for seven
years. He clung to the truth, and exercised justice and authority in
a fair way, banning what was forbidden, killing highwaymen,
forbidding wine, games, and dances accompanied by drums. The
country flourished. He cultivated the nobles and the Qur'anic
teachers, the dervishes and the sheikhs. He ruled over his kingdom
and worked for the good of his subjects.
Our lord the imam of the Muslims, Ahmad bin Ibrahim al-Ghazi was
at that time a knight under Garad Abun, endowed with intelligence
and foresight who consulted, in his youth and his prime, the
inspiration of God the Most High in regard to the commission that
God willed should be entrusted to him. Garad Abun loved him
mightily, when he saw how courageous and astute he was''
ancient oromo beliefs says that Axmed gurey was a Balaw Karanle
hawiya babile afaan oromo, and they have that written Down in
some books, which are not translated. but they believe he was a
balaw.
The tigriyan highlanders also have there claims on him and have
some books. that claim he is a balaw, from tigriyans themselves
because there is a tigriyan balaw's in the highlands of ethiopia..
and when the Imam captured habasha he had his camp there and
his wife was with them in the war times. they were guarding her.
he also had a meeting with some balaw tribes during his camp up
there.
Now the Question is WHO are this balaw tribe and where do they
live? we know that the Garad Ibrahim of hubat was a balaw.
Hubat is located between Harar and babile, and the city is called in
af somali ''Hoobad'' and the people you will find today in this city
are still the same. they belong to the same tribe as the balaw
mentioned up. Balaw is a sub-sub-sub tribe under Karanle sixawle
and this tribe still lives in hoobad, and the entire city is mainly
karanle sixawle balaw.
Beesha Karanle accept kismayo airport being named after Imam
axmed gurey + some interesting facts.
Caddeyn: Sax iyo qalad.
1. Sida uu xusay kutubka “Kashf as-sudul can taariikh as-
Sumal” wuxuu sheegayaa in uu iimaamku ku dhashay
magaalada Hoobad oo ah dhul ay degaan tolka Balaw ama
Bulow.
Waxaa sax ah in uu tolkani yahay Baalow oo ah Seexawle
Karanle oo ay degmada Hoobad ka mid tahay dhulku uu ilaa
maanta dego.
2. Sidoo kale buuggani wuxuu xusayaa in Iimaam Axmed uu
ku biiray ciidamo uu hoggaaminayey Garaad Abuun Cadash.
Waxaa sax ah in magaca garaadka dambe uu ahaa Garaad
Abuun Cadaadshe oo ay ka soo jeedaan jilibka Reer Garaad
Abuun Cadaadshe. Garaadkani wuxuu ilma-adeer la ahaa
Imaam Axmed-gurey oo isagu ahaa Axmed Garaad Ibraahim
Maxamed. Markii uu dhintay Garaad Ibraahim oo ahaa Axmed
aabbihii ayaa waxaa garaadnimadii beesha la wareegay
Garaad Cadaadshe, waxaana ka sii dhaxlay wiilkiisii oo ahaa
Abuun Garaad Cadaadshe. Sidaas awgeed Axmed Gurey
dadaal badan ayuu u galay dib u hanashada garaadnimadii uu
dhaxalka u lahaa ee beesha Karanle, waxaase Alle ku galladay
in uu noqday iimaamka muslimiinta Geeska Afrika.

you have derailed the thread.. the purpose behind the thread was seeing them going at it Again..

the guy is karanle balaw even in the Encyclopedia of the World.. but there was a Civil war in Adal sultanate, which exposed the truth, and the tribes come a live in that incident.. the garad mahfuz and his son muhammed mahfuz and there forefathers where the emirs and there qabiil is Ogaden.

while you have garad bin ahmed, garad abun ibn adash and Imam ahmed gurey on the other side they were Sixawle Karanle..

the throne have changed hands 5 times in under 10 years. no marehan, or dir was part of that civil war or dispute for the Crown.. it were only between ogaden and karanle..

you have the marehan garad from kedid (gedo) and there is Nuur ibn mujahid WHO became the leader of Harar sultanate after the death of Ahmed gurey and married his wife WHO was ogaden herself and her name is bati al wambara..

The only clans that can claim to have any connection with Imam Ahmed are Northern Dir, Isaaq, marehan and afar tribes. But the Imam himself was almost certainly not a Somali, so afweynes claims are ludicrous.

The Imam was somali and from Hoobad where his people still live today.. the Northern dir, Isaaq and Marehan + the afar had no dog fight in this empire.. they were just civilians of the empire or called on Jihad.. to make ibaada

This is My unbiased take on this empire and the truth.. the empire called adal sultanate belonged to Ogaden and all most all sultans were ogaden except 4..

1 Sulṭān SabiradDīn SaʿadadDīn 1415 - 1422 Son of SaʿadadDīn Aḥmed, won some early victories before being soundly defeated by Emperor Yeshaq
2 Sulṭān Mansur SaʿadadDīn 1422 - 1424 Son of SaʿadadDīn Aḥmed, Defeated the Abyssinians at Yedaya, only to be defeated and imprisoned by Yeshaq
3 Sulṭān JamaladDīn SaʿadadDīn 1424 - 1433 Won several important battles before being defeated at Harjai, he was assassinated in 1433
4 Sulṭān AḥmedudDīn "Badlay" SaʿadadDīn 1433 - 1445 Son of SaʿadadDīn Aḥmed, known to the Abyssinians as "Arwe Badlay" ("Badlay the Monster"). AḥmedudDīn turned the tide of war against the Abyssinians and decisively defeated the forces of Emperor Yeshaq and liberated the land of Ifat. AḥmedudDīn founded a new capital at Dakkar in the Adal region, near Harar, creating the Sultanate of Adal. He was killed in battle after he had launched a jihad to push the Abyssinians back out of Dawaro.
5 Sulṭān Maḥamed AḥmedudDīn 1445 - 1472 Son of AḥmedudDīn "Badlay" SaʿadadDīn, Maḥamed asked for help from the Mameluk Sultanate of Egypt in 1452, though this assistance was not forthcoming. He ended up signing a very short-lived truce with Baeda Maryam
6 Sulṭān ShamsadDin Maḥamed 1472 - 1488 Son of Maḥamed AḥmedudDīn, he was attacked by Emperor Eskender of Abyssinia in 1479, who sacked Dakkar and destroyed much of the city, though the Abyssinians did not attempt to occupy the city and were ambushed on the way home with heavy losses.
7 Sulṭān Maḥamed ʿAsharadDīn 1488 - 1518 Great-grandson of SaʿadadDīn Aḥmed of Ifat, he continued to fight to liberate Dawaro along with Garad Maḥfūẓ of Zeila. He was assassinated after a disastrous campaign in 1518 and the death of Garad Maḥfūẓ.
8 Sultan Maḥamed Abūbakar Maḥfūẓ 1518 - 1519 Seized the throne, sparking a conflict between the Karanle and Walashma
9 Sulṭān Abūbakar Maḥamed 1518 - 1526 He killed Garād Abūn and restored the Walashma dynasty, but Garād Abūn's cousin Imām Aḥmed Gurēy avenged his cousin's death and killed him. While Garād Abūn ruled in Dakkar, Abūbakar Maḥamed established himself at Harar in 1520, and this is often cited as when the capital moved. Abūbakar Maḥamed was the last Walashma sultan to have any real power.
10 Garād Abūn ʿAdādshe 1519 - 1525 Successor to Maḥamed Abūbakar Maḥfūẓ and the Karanle party of the struggle for the throne.
11 Sulṭān ʿUmarDīn Maḥamed 1526 - 1553 Son of Maḥamed ʿAsharadDīn, Imām Aḥmed Gurēy put Maḥamed ʿAsharadDīn's young son ʿUmarDīn on the throne as puppet king in Imām Aḥmed Gurēy's capital at Harar. This essentially is the end of the Walashma dynasty as a ruling dynasty in all but name, though the dynasty hobbled on in a de-jure capacity. Many king lists don't even bother with Walashma rulers after this and just list Imām Aḥmed Gurēy and then Amīr Nūr Mujahid.
12 Sulṭān ʿAli ʿUmarDīn 1553 - 1555 Son of ʿUmarDīn Maḥamed
13 Sulṭān Barakat ʿUmarDīn 1555 - 1559 Son of ʿUmarDīn Maḥamed, last of the Walashma Sultans, assisted Amīr Nūr Mujahid in his attempt to retake Dawaro. He was killed defending Harar from Emperor Gelawdewos, ending the dynasty.
Garad Ibrahim bin ahmed from hubat of the balawi(Karanle) tribe came to power only in 3 months were he got assisted by Garad Mahamed Abukar Mahfuz of Walashma (Ogaden)..

Mahfuz died in Jihad months later where the power was siezed by Garad Abun ibn adash (Karanle) and he was killed by Mahfuz's son Abukar Mahamed, and he was later on killed by garad abun ibn adash's cousin Imam ahmed ibn Ibrahim (gurey) (karanle)..

after his death nuur ibn mujahid (marehan) came to power, and he was also assisted by sultan Barakat umardin (Walashma) Ogaden.. then the Empire came to and end.. Nuur ibn Mujahid didn't like Qabiil so his main mission was to destroy qabiil..

The only 4 rulers WHO were not Ogaden was Garad abun ibn adash, Ahmed Gurey, Garad Ibrahim bin ahmed and Nuur ibn mujahid..

The rest were Ogadens on the list up.. No dir, Isaaq, afar, etc etc..

Don't hide behind cuba or the name luis. Your simply are former ethiopian army general.
probably you have some kind of nightmare about somali army. Where and when did somali come face to face with your unit?
