the somali region politics is influenced by the emigration movement of the three most powerful clans. the ogaden, issa and isaaq.
1 back to 90s there was civil war in somaliland so more isaaqs were moving in to the kilil, isaaqs were more closer to the federal government and they created "non ogaden" allaince. the ogaden who are majority were just rebels with no polical plan, they claimed the whole region as their own! so isaaq controled the region through the decade. when somaliland civil war ended most of issaq people moved back to somaliland, they are still moving into somaliland!
2 the issa are not easy as they seem, they own very big land between diredawa and jibouti, which the railway lies. they are very influential but same as the issaqs they always turn back to djibouti, its worth to mention they are even disapearing in somaliland as they are moving to djibouti, while the gadsbuursi are taking over there place.
3 the largest clan of the region the ogadens are moving from their original towns into the capital jigjiga, they are the only somali clan who are immigrating to jigjiga at the moment. plus they changed their politcal veiws, and they are more closer to the federal government. it happened because of iley, the guy is very smart and he is indeed the most liked guy in the history of the somali region.
today jigjiga is more like becoming ogaden city, unless they they do mistakes. one of the possible mistakes that could happen is if the ogaden use their political and militry power against other clans specially issaq and jidwaaq , that will let the issaqs move to jigjiga which is very serrious challenge for the ogaden, "non ogaden" card can be played again. they must use issaq style soft politics from now on, or they will hit the road very soon.
