KISMAYO, Somalia Dec.7, 2013 (Garowe Online)-The President of Somalia's Jubaland administration Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Madobe) has appointed new cabinet of ministers as part of Jubba agreement, Garowe Online reports.


In a presidential decree seen by GO on Saturday, Madobe presented cabinet line-up consisting of 8 ministers with Suldan Abdulkadir Mohamed Lugadere being appointed as the second Vice President while Gen. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismael Fartaag remains in his post of first Jubaland Vice President.


Among those who managed to get a portfolio in President Madobe's cabinet are Ahmed Abdihafid Mohamed as Minister of Commerce, Pro. Mohamed Adan Jama as Minister of Livestock, fisheries and agriculture, Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamud as Minister of Social Affairs, Hassan Dahir Yarow as Minister of Health, Mohamed Nur Iftin as Minister of Planning and International relations, Mohamed Warsame Farah (Darwish) as Minister of Interior and security, Mohamed Sheikh Yusuf as Minister of Finance and Abdinur Ali Adan as Minister of Mines, Environment and Water.


Gen. Darwish who has been assigned to the Ministry of interior previously became Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) Chief under TFG President, Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed's incumbency.


The new cabinet of Ministers named by Madobe is the first to be officially declared since Jubaland administration gained its recognition in August following IGAD-brokered bilateral talks between Federal Government of Somalia and Jubaland delegation.

Ahmed Madobe firstly led Kismayo Interim Administration shortly after Kenyan-AMISOM forces dislodged Al Shabaab militants from Kismayo port city and later was elected as Jubaland President in a huge convention which brought together 500 delegates on 15 May, 2013.
