Everyone was fighting for political power including the people in Somaliland.

Resources bring money, since there wasn't any resources they were fighting where would the money come from?

There is a huge different of controlling the capital of a country or a part of its region. Second the South diversity is a whole another level compared to the North. Third unlike the North the South has received nothing but interference from outsiders when it comes to reconciliation. Fourth but that does not mean the South is blameless far from it.

That said i once was very unionist person like Muslimstruggler even pro Somaliweyn but slowly i started to realize how futile it was into convincing someone who clearly doesn't want to stay with you to change its mind. The Ogaden are starting to get comfortable with the idea of being part of Kenya or Ethiopia and even if they get their freedom the likelihood of them joining Somalia is even slimmer than Hargeisa.

Talking about Hargeisa it wants to secede on man-made colonial borders and so therefore can't stomach the idea that others don't want to be part of their project. Garowe which i call the stealth secessionist wants to secede too but it knows it has no legs to stand on Djibouti no comment needed. All in All it is time we stopped deceiving each other either we genuinely work together or all go our separate ways just like how our ancestor were before the colonialist arrived then maybe just maybe we can come to some sort of an EU style agreement

My dear fellow, if Puntland wanted to secede, it would have done so ages ago. And there's very little the weak administration in Xamar could do about it too. You forget that there wouldn't have even been anything resembling a federal government there had it not been for Abdullahi Yusuf's TFG and the Garowe I and II Roadmap treaties (AUN :rose:).

Puntland has its own state institutions, including a proper military. It is entirely self-sufficient. It doesn't need to host half a million jareer IDPs from the south, who are both a security and resource liability.

The only thing that ties Puntland to Konfuurta is Puntland itself. If tomorrow Puntland's leaders were to decide that being the architects of Somali nationalism since the Somali Youth League days no longer outweighs the thankless job of trying to help the south get back on its feet again, make no mistake: Puntland would not only seek recognition as a separate nation, it would obtain it.

I shall not write an essay about Puntland treacherous ways it is well documented. About seceding do you understand how international law works instead of talking emotionally. If Somaliland who mind you has a reasonable case (colonial recognized borders) is finding it hard to secede what makes you think Puntland can :lupe: and wasn't it Faroole saying he wants to secede and join their arch-enemy few months back
