Agew Jews were not migrating for solely economic reasons, and weren't allowed to own land to farm in Ethiopia.

The Christian rulers and princes for the past couple thousand years systematically persecuted them and forced them to convert at the sword to Christianity or lose their lands and be sold into slavery. Much of the lands around ancient castles in Ethiopia like at Fasilides and other royal territory was originally Jewish land that was confiscated. Marxism under Mengistu Haile Mariam brought a lot of land reform but the Jews were still marginalized.

Yes it is so peaceful you need African boyfriends to keep alshabaab from overrunning the country. It's so peaceful that people who go out onto the streets have to look out for suicide bombers as well as stray bullets. STFU.
BTW the only peaceful part is the north. I'm currently doing my studies but Inshallah ill be going back home as soon as they are finished. Please don't pretend like you know me.

My grandfather also told stories about how Aden used to have tons of Jews back when it was still a British colony. Most of them got airlifted out around the time Israel became independent.

I don't think I gave enough of an answer here before on why Ethiopian Jews left Ethiopia in such numbers to Israel. From what I read on Somalinet, there seems to be a lack of understanding and context of Ethiopian history. At the time of the incredible Mossad operations that airlifted tens of thousands of Ethiopian Jews to Israel, there was a civil war raging in Ethiopia, the Marxists were targeting our Jewry and Ethiopian Jewry had recently realized that other Jews even existed in the world. That they had rebuilt the Jewish homeland and were a beacon to all Jews in the world was amazing enough, but really the most amazing thing was the heroic efforts by the Israeli government to rescue Ethiopian Jewry from the meatgrinder that was Marxist Ethiopia and the refugee camps in the Sudan.
If you don't want to spend all that effort in getting and reading a book, may I recommend watching a couple of these YouTube videos, and if you have the time, especially this longer documentary.
