Somali Foreign Minister part of reconciliation team in juba

JUBA (Somalilandsun) - The Somalia Foreign Minister Ms Fozia Yusuf Haji Aden is in Juba city as part of African team to mediate the ongoing South Sudanese Conflict.
The mediators from five African countries who were dispatched to the conflict zoned by IGAD are from Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, Djibouti and Ethiopia informed of they held productive talks on Friday with South Sudan's President Salva Kiir as they seek to prevent an almost week-long conflict plunging Africa's newest nation into a civil war along ethnic faultlines.

Ms Fozia Yusuf Haji Aden who also doubles as her country's deputy prime minister is making her first fray of mediation in a conflict zone in South Sudan where Fighting that began on Sunday in the capital Juba has swiftly spread, fuelled by ethnic loyalties between president Silva Kiir, a member of the Dinka ethnic group and former Vice President Riek Machar, a Nuer who was sacked in July.
The conflict that has seen over 34,000 citizens of Africa's newest nation take refuge in United Nation bases erupted after president Kiir accused his disposed former deputy of attempting to seize power by force.
