Numerous Somaliland websites state this. Besides that majority of the town is suffering from water shortages.Meyle wrote:Western and southern parts of Town are not 70% of the entire city.

If that was true, Hargeysa would be chaos by now.
Direct from Somaliland websites:Direct from Somalilandsun webiste in english:70% magaaladda Hargeysa waxa u dhaamiya Booyadaha, waxaana saaka laga dareemayaa biyo la’aan kadib markii ay Booyadahani shalay shaqada jooijiyeen iyagoo isla markaana maaanta mudaharaad balaadhan ku soo bandhigay cabashadooda.
This action is set to exacerbate water shortage in the Somaliland capital city of Hargeisa where piped public water supply is connected to around 30% of the residents thus the private distributors servicing the remaining 70% and of course at a cost.
We are talking about the real desert here

They can state what ever they want but its still illogical that western and southern parts of town make up 70% of the entire city.

All Somali cities are facing shortages and if not, they have access to unsafe drinking water that kills countless every year (not to mention the most nastiest and heaviest feeling water ever). It doesn't really make a difference

Ask your fellow Walaweyns. You can't share shit with them, 1960 to 1991 was enough proof.
So mine is mine and whats yours, well it doesn't concern me.

We don't see other Somali towns protesting over water shortages. Besides that don't turn this thread into a competitive discussion. It's about Hargeysa not other towns. What should the Somaliland government do about this? Talk about something resourceful!AbdiJohnson wrote:All Somali cities are facing shortages and if not, they have access to unsafe drinking water that kills countless every year (not to mention the most nastiest and heaviest feeling water ever). So it was eastern parts & southern parts of town plus segments from western parts of town?
Still doesn't add up to 70% of the entire city.
Still doesn't add up to 70% of the entire city.

Somalia has to be one of the least developed country in the third world
Just because of our Jeeljire mentality and Qabiil issues

• Hargeisa town water supplyXimanJaale wrote:30% of the town does, however the remaining 70% depends on water tank distribution.GIJaamac wrote:![]()
Doesn't Hargeysa have motor wells and water pipes ? Waa maxay booyadaha la sheegaayo ?
The Hargeisa Water Authority supplies around 9000 cubic metres of water to Hargeisa per day. This means that some 70% of the residents have piped water, with each person receiving 18 litres per day. The remaining 30% of the residents receive water from water tankers, which draw water from shallow wells.
