lending money to relatives

Sometimes they tend to prolong the matter because you are family. I understand there a certain etiquettes one has to abide by with regards to relatives,however it is not a good look to prolong the matter unnecessarily. I lend money but I won't go after them. Sometimes I will forgive the debt just so I can no longer have any expectations but no more than two times. The third time I tell them I have no money.

I wouldnt borrow or lend money to friends either. It kills friendships.

Who the hell lends money to family? If they are in trouble or they ask for money you GIVE them the money. They would do the same for you if your were in their predicament.
