No. May May is different from both Swahili and Somali. It's a distinct language, though it has loan words from the Somali language.Hodan94 wrote:isn't may may Swahili??

Shut up!You're mistaken. Swahili is spoken in South Somalia by many people, like the Bajunis. Also, millions of Somalis who live in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda have learned it. Also, many Snetters (BV, Abdiwahab, The_Patriot, sh. Mustafa and others) speak it.

Work visas should not be given to third world citizens except in the case of trades. We need quality professionals to have us reconstructing, not the Africans. Africans should be banned from applying entirely. Indians and Chinese can apply for the trades work visa. Also, if the trades people want to work in Somalia, they must agree to teach 2 Somalis their skills. They must have two young Somalis accompany them at all times when they are working. A large foreign company must have all of its employees to be Somali (a large company must teach 10 nom employee Somalis what they know). A small business like a Turkish kebab shop (restaurants) should have at least 1 Somali worker. They must teach another 2 non employee Somalis about how to run a business and customer service and not necessarily how to make the food. Any foreigner can come and invest but they must teach what they know. Teachers from abroad must teach new Somali teaching graduates how to perform, etc
I would do this for 15 years. Then fully open the Somali market with absolutely no restrictions except Africans are not allowed to work. They can come to invest in large businesses but not work. I believe in free markets with no restrictions, just not with the lazy and idiot Africans. If you want Somalia to look like China or the West, don't have Africans teaching you anything

Free movement of people would mean high infection rate for HIV.
Uganda--1,200,000
Tanzania-1,400,000
Burundi--110,000
Kenya--1,500,000
Rwanda--170,000

Sometimes you surprise me when you actually make an intelligent suggestion. I agree. I would also make it mandatory for all foreign companies to use Somali goods and materials rather than importing stuff from elsewhere or at least a certain percentage of goods have to be local. Also, I would only open doors after a period of 10-15 yrs during which every young Somali would be trained in vocations or would attend universities.

Morons are running the country. I heard Somalis are f-king importing live chickens from Brazil. They import khat from Kenya. Can you imagine your biggest consumed good is not even grown in your land?
There's no harm in bringing foreigners to pave half the roads. Build most buildings. But the Somalis must learn how to maintain them and create more. Let Mogadishu be our experiment and lesson. Unlike some here, i think the Turks and Chinese in Somalia is a blessing. Foreigners shouldn't make up 1% of Somalia any industry/sector workforce by 2030. The UN should be kicked out too by then.

Not at this climate, maybe after Somalia become very stable and economically good. Then can we join and compete and help out.

Somalia, South Sudan To Be Admitted In EAC

More importantly, how much time do I need to learn Swahili? The East African Legislative Assembly speaker Margaret Zziwa has revealed that the East African Community will this year start the process of admitting Somalia and South Sudan.
While speaking at the opening of the assembly’s Kampala session today, Zziwa said that the EAC shall send the verification teams into the two countries to ascertain their applications to join the regional block and called upon the applicants to work on the restoration of peace.
The announcement comes at a time when South Sudan is battling tribal conflicts with President Salva Kiir’s forces fighting with the rebels led by his former deputy, Dr Riek Machar. Zziwa argues that admitting the two troubled countries will minimise conflicts in their countries saying that South Sudanese will quit looking at themselves as Dinkas or Nuers but as South Sudanese in an integrated EAC.
Minister for East African Community Affairs Shem Bagaine said that before the hostilities broke out in South Sudan, teams were sent there and were set to enter into the verification stage adding that the conflicts won’t stop the process. The chair of the council of ministers Phyllis Jepkosgei Kandie said that EAC would be better off admitting those countries so that it actively participates in solving their problems because having war-torn neighbours will not enhance the community.
She said one cannot be safe when the neighbours are at war adding that since one doesn’t choose neighbours, it is in the Community’s best interest to ensure that the neighbours are at peace.
South Sudan and the Republic of Somalia applied to be admitted in the community in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
Somalia has itself been at war since the overthrow of long time President Siad Barre 22 years ago. Uganda is among the countries that have troops in Somalia as an African Union Peace-keepig force. Other troop contributors include Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Sierra Leone and Burundi.

Re: Will Somalia be joining the East African Community?
Wtf? Who gave this government the authority to make us part of this so called "East African community" who by the way ultimately has a plan to integrate and eventually turn all the countries in this union into a single country? What a f-king joke.
Actually thinking about it, the whole "Somalia as country will in the future be divided between Kenya and Ethiopia" doesn't even seem that far fetched now. They'll probably give Somaliland and Puntland to Ethiopia and the proper south to Kenya. f-king Zoomalis, hadii aad tashan waydiid waa lagu talin.
