AU replaces Kenyan troops in Kismayo

Kenyan troops in Kismayo would be replaced by a mulinational forces Dhanaan Media reports.
The presence of Kenyan troops and military hardwares in Kismayo would be reduced to minimal according to a revised sectorization and reconfiguration of AMISOM operation in Somalia.

African Union convened a consultative meeting early this month in Addis Ababa attended by chiefs of Defence staffs of troops and police contributing countries.In this meeting the chiefs of Defence staff discussed important issues regarding operational issues arising from the development of AMISOM concept of operations where at the end of the meeting they agreed a revised sectorization and reconfiguration of AMISOM operations in Somalia.

AMISOM chiefs of Defence staff agreed that at the end February, Sierra Leone would take over the command and leadership of AMISOM’S operation in sector 5(Kismaayo) with one battalion of Sierra Leone troops stationed in Kismayo accompanied by troops from Burundi,Kenya and a police unit from Nigeria.

Dhanaan Media learnt that under this agreement most of the Kenyan troops and military hardware would be withdrawn back and deployed other towns in lower Juba.

This change was necessitated by the earlier proposal from African Union which says that sector 5 in Kismayo should be transformed in to a multinational force.

In July last year, the Federal government of Somalia sendt a letter to African Union Peace commision requesting the replacement of Kenyan troops in Kismayo with a multinationa force.

With three battalions of ENDF and one battalion from Djibouti joining AMISOM,the African forces are expected to root out Alshabab from their remaining strong holds in South and central Somalia.

Murax can we talk about how General Gabiyo saved MX from the Horde? Darood regrouped in the OG town of Dhoobley and agreed to rename the various factions as SPM (the OG faction's name) and gave leadership to General Gabiyo (OG), elected Omar Jess (OG) as the military commander while Morgan (Harti) was made Police Chief. Only after that did Darood liberate Kismayo.

So the counter attack was planned in an OG town and the military leadership was given to Ogaden followed by Harti, MX had a minimal role. That says it all really.

Jess then left the coalition due to internal differences between him and Gabiyo/Morgan over the 91 SPM election result. He teamed up with Hawiye and the result was MSB fleeing to Kenya. Once again Ogaden shows that MX can not survive without our support.

The next fight was between Morgan and Jess, Morgan only succeeded after the United Task Force (UNITAF) disarmed Jess' troops. That same Task Force (US and Belgian) troops stopped Jess from retaking the city on multiple occasions.

After that OG fighters mostly joined Islamic groups from Ittihad to ICU while Harti and MX/HG swapped control of the city until Sheikh Hassan Turki Al Absame liberated it in 06. That was the end of MX in Kista there and then with President Madoobe as the uncontested leader as we speak.

Marehan never had any power to begin with. Before Msb we used to whoop them, raid them and sell their own looted camel back to them. When msb came along they started using the government power to steal lands and when he was kicked out we kicked them out too. Morgan was Siyads son in law. What connection did gabyow have with barre? Where was Maslah and all the other marehan generals? Marehan had no one to lead them. The rest will be taken care of by Marehan uniting to agree on a concept of Jubbaland which they lead, as it was intended for them by fate given.

Ogaden will go back to what they were before Major Chirchir came: citizens to be taken care of by their prominent brothers in Somalia.
