The Eelay got freed from Hussein Aidid thanks to the Ethiopians in the mid 1990s. The Darood had come back after 1990 thanks to large quantities of Kenyan irregulars (Cagdheer in the KDF) and Kenyan military equipment and logistics from the Darood General Mohamud of the Kenya Defense Forces. Ali Mahdi's crew and the Darood got breathing room after the invasion of the UNITAF and UNOSOM forces who combated Caydiid's SNA. If the UN and UNITAF did not arrive, the civil war would have been over by mid 1993 because no side had room or resources to keep fighting on. Moi of Kenya had turned on supporting MSB and his junta loyalists after the spectacular defeat in 1992 at the hands of USC regulars. The conclusion of the civil war would have helped save Somalia and moved into another phase. Yet foreigners kept interfering and prolonging the war instead of letting it die out.

 Revisionist history 101. Yes, When Caydiid recruited every yamyam, qadadweyn, Bantu and made them Hawiye He got some momentum, but that was very short lived.

Reuters (1995)
"Somalis say that Aideed, whose Habre Gedir militias have suffered several bitter defeats at the hands of the rival Marehan clan in recent weeks in the central regions, has left Mogadishu to personally lead counterattacks.

The town of Belet Huen on the Ethiopian frontier has been captured by the joint Marehan and Hawadle forces, who had lost it to Aideed's forces while the United Nations was still in Somalia last year.

The Habre Gedir have also come under bitter attacks from the Marehan around the remote central town of Dusa Mareb, Somali travellers say."

The first of these narrations is that of Thawban - radiallahu 'anhu - the freed slave of the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam. He related that the Messenger of Allah said: "The nations are about to call each other and set upon you, just as diners set upon food."

This is fact of the world and more appropriate to Somalis.

The next people who organize a coup in Somalia i hope it works out well because the last lasted 25 years till today. AW accept your abti was a failure, no more revisionist history.

Somalis (lots of youth) of all clans need to formulate a 'common goals' framework in a national conference style without any foreign delegates etc.
Because today Somalis don't really know what they want or how to achieve it.

True. James Dahl's people are still traumatized by centuries of Islam's dominance (scientifically, academically, militarily, etc) of the world. They use overwhelming force and resources against Islamists. They would do anything to maintain their dominance, and the greatest trick they ever pulled is convince some weak Muslims that Sharia is archaic, backward and unfit for this era.
