The name October should have been changed long time ago but naming the district Sheffield is not the most creative idea in my opinion.
i don't oppose the name Sheffield for the stated reason like waa magac magaalo gaalo and other silly reasons stated but I believe there
are better local names. There are foreign cities that have catchy names and very easy for the Somali tongue to pronounce, Sheffield
is not one of them in my opinion. It would prove hard to be pronounced by the locals and the name would mutate into something
different like Sheefiiil.

historically there have been people who have strayed further from orthodoxy but were still considered muslims,
people were given a lot of leeway.
This is because takfiiris were extremely isolated , were like cockroaches hiding in holes in every muslim country afraid of rearing their heads.
Today they proudly walk around and command respect and influence.

may god help us all/.
Listen to what afwayne says about diinta bal
The comments are really funny

I think that speech was the begining of the end in somalia.

Everywhere else in the world local people are reverting back to the original precolonial names of their cities, towns..mountains and waterfalls..from the Zulus to the Indians to the Aborigines and Maoris.

But us? We're begging to be colonised again...as if the begging wasn't bad enough and the constant isku dhadhajis to the British because they once ruled us.

She has a point (for once). Dadkani wey na cebeeyeen. You can't sweep it under the rug with "mind your own business". What's worse, the ingiriis don't even know these fools exist. All the lip-service they pay about "democracy bla bla bla" is bullshit. They only see one country, Somalia and only one capital, Mogadishu. It's time to smell the coffee, nobody's interested. So why don't we stop begging in front of the houses of parliament and actually focus on issues that are affecting us right now?

yeah, but who's for the renaming anyway...didnt u hear what burco citizens have said. they're against it.
so basically this thread is a waste of space anyway only those corrupt burco councillors came up with the idea not the ppl.
the plan wouldn't go ahead anyway.

even if israel recognize somalilan this year or the next we will name some places after her. its just THANK YOU SIGN and attracting more other countries and counties.we will always respect and reward any one who give us hand during our jouney to become fully indepedent nation. i suggest our youth in uk and back home should support SHEFFEILD FOOTBALL TEAM instead of aresenal chelsea etc.
Chelsea is a very good, I like Chelsea football shirts
