is jubbaland secession a tangible reality?

Post by grandpakhalif »

after weeks of speculation, ive been following the current debacle in kismayo and I have to say I am quite surprised how quickly political developments are unfolding in this pristine part of italia somalia. the IGAD has managed to tow the line but as US wiki-leaks revealed their are other powers pushing for the secession/isolation of jubbaland due its vast geopolitical and agricultural value. Jubbaland is situated in an area which has access to Indian ocean and by default the entire indo-china pacific sea. It can easily circumvent Mogadishu if they please because their are different regional powers vying for this. Wikileaks revealed that another emerging superpower China has purchased and or paid for Jubbaland security apparatus and were the ones who initially funded Jubbaland security via nonlethal assistance such as boots, military vests, food security etc. Now one must wonder why is China paying out of its own pocket and facilitating this aid via Kenya? The simple answer is, jubbaland possesses a vast amount of benefits that may hold the key to the new battle for energy after the Middle East goldrush siphons the last drop of oil in the next 10 years. We also seen EU countries show significant amount of interest in the state of Jubbaland such as Norway and France the former an oil producing nation. One must remember that the kenyans would not embark on the jubbaland initative if their weren't incentives for her other than the premadonna 'protect our nation' bullcrap. is it no wonder the US oppossed Kenya in her mission in Somalia? It certainly worries washington that this new future will guarantee China a new energy source in Africa and will win another battle in the scramble for Africa. Is it no wonder Washington quickly recognized this and aligned itself with Mogadishu?

the tides are turning and the world is watching as jubbaland offers not only huge economic benefits but its strategic location to the tanzanian oil shelf promises something bigger, maybe even a pipeline that will transfer jubbaland offshore oil that spans the entire east african coastline and power not only africa but the entire world. is it any wonder that ahmed madoobe/gen fartaag and co refuse to bow down to mogadishu? The future certainly is very interesting, with China who might embark on bardheere dam project in gedo in order to fuel hydroenergy project that was cancelled due to savage USC and the advent of civil war.

it is very exciting times for jubbalanders and if we get through this rocky start with barre hiiraale comprising with jubbaland state it will be a bright future indeed.

S/L had zero backers for their secession.
