there are outliers in every community. i just believe its better to not associate with Somalis when given a choice. you're much more likely to run into people who want to bring you down than lift you up.

It's better that way, don't get too close with Somalis they will do juju on you or teach you bad stuff or be a negative influence to your life, or they're just not smart enough to have as friends. You need links and people that will take you far not useless Somalis.

This isn't directed at the OP but why do some pretentious Somalis brag and act like not having Somali friends is an amazing thing? You don't have Somali friends, cool; that doesn't make you any better than the rest of us

I didn't grow up with many Somali friends around. Going out of my way, seeking and mingling more with my people during my teens was the best choice. Somalis are genuinely nice for the most part and down to Earth. There also shouldn't really be an interactive barrier between youth who have grown up in the diaspora, the Somali factor makes everybody click. Dadkaaga baro
