This has to be the song of the year Couple of weeks ago, I went to a local Somaliland party and couldn't believe how the landers were dancing to this tune. I felt out of place and I was supposed to be good at it.

I don't think there is any other Somali song that reached a million views in seven months.

I think the success with the Dhaanto is because of all the starved singers who use to earn a living singing at riwaayado and so on receiving cash from Jigjiga for their services in promoting A.Ilay andd his kilil admin. They have blocked ONLF from most Somali tv stations and replaced it with their crap so all you have is this mindless Dhaanto and Qashin being broadcast from Jigjiga. People are getting bored though, what next to keep the masses distracted.
