They also play their national anthem at every sporting event, I've noticed. Even domestic games in the NBA, Major league baseball etc. It's almost like they forget they're in America and need to be constantly reminded

For all those saying America is the greatest nation on earth, it is not. It is the most powerful nation on earth and the richest. But that power is a force for evil and the money doesn't reach 99% of the population. I gotta admit, aside for New York (almost on par with London) and maybe LA (because California), there isn't a city in America I'd be tempted visit. You are beaten by smaller and less affluent nations on standards of living.

What's wrong with loving your country and being patriotic? If you're not patriotic I think you are of no use to your country. If you don't love your country, you're basically a traitor

National anthems at sporting events is nothing. Try singing the national anthem everyday after the morning announcements every day from K-12th Grade

Something barbaric and savage about patriotism, it's a shoot off form nationalism and nazism, like a wild animal marking his territory, the more societies advance the less restrictions they put on borders and travelling

In England it's a criminal offence to fly English flag out your window, it's deemed offensive to the multicultural society we live in, that's what you call an advanced nation
