One is flabbergasted by your inability to extrapolate on the given scenario.

use the same cup of rice for the same cup of water, for example 2 cups = 2 cups of water, they tell you to put 3 , but don't , washing the rice itself adds water in it , so use 2 for 2 with the same cup with little oil.

NO!!!! No, No, No, No, No, No, No and more No. Bad advice.

The correct ratio is 2 cups rice : 1 cup water. 1 cup equates roughly 4 people, and Baasto as you are (I'm assuming?) living alonbe, 1/2 a cup will do.
1) Bariiska sii radi (rinse it with warm water 3-4 times or until water goes clear)
2) Put a little oil or butter (small teaspoon full) with huruud, milix & little bit of xawaash powder in a dhari
3) add 1/2 cup of rice
4) put 1/4 cup water (trust me!) with a splash extra water if you're worried
5) throw in heyl iyo qurfa,
6) dabka dhex-dhexaad gee,
7) dabool saar dheriga,
8) wait for 5-6mins.

that's b.s , it depends too what kind of rice you are cooking, basmati, jasmine, long grain etc. My rule is if it says 2 cups of rice with 3 cups of water ( 1 and 1/2 for each cup) I just make 2 for 2 and then wash the rice add a bit of oil and salt and my rice comes out ok.

YummyMummy 1 cup of rice for 4 people??? are you feeding Wasiir Xirsi Gaab group?? I can eat 1 cup of rice on one sittings.

X.Playa, how big are you? We're a family of 8 people and I cook 2 cups of rice to be finished the same day. So that rule does work. 1/2 cup = 2 large qaado spoon fulls of rice. That's more than enough for 1 person, and easily shared in a group if you put 1 & 1/2 cups for all the boys in 1 large plate.

When you figure out the water thing, something else that makes it mushy is stirring.

You're only allowed to stir rice once - when you first put it in. After that you leave it alone and when the water goes under you "lift" the rice to mix. Haddi aad walaaqdid it becomes soor.
