How would you react?

Post by EvolSyawla »

You are friends with someone and is completely platonic. S/He may have made a pass at you in the beginning but you squashed those quickly because you knew he or she was married...a marriage which you made duas for and wish for nothing but marital bliss.

Fast forward a few months, you two talk on Whatsap every few days, and are still friends. Again completely platonic. You have someone very important to you and so does this friend - a spouse.

One day you get some passive aggressive msgs saying this is the spouse of so and so. Delete this number and don't contact him again basically. And before you can agree with the wife/husband and reassure him or her that there was nothing at all between you two, you are blocked lol

She* blocked me. And I'm not a homewrecker, lol I have nothing but best wishes for them and I hope he didn't do something stupid to generate that message to me.

I'm just a little perturbed by the fact that she assumed all females in his life are whoring on her husband. What kind of insecurities are those? Out of respect for a fellow sister I wouldn't bother lest she think there was something more.

Jasmine macaaney I can't guess what was going on in his head, but for me he was just another homie... :(

Platonic? Let me tell you something, merely staying friends with the opposite sex isn't part of our inherent reproductive strategy

Us females are very territorial horta so it's understandable from her prospective as for him I don't know his intentions are but what I've learn so far is that males and females can't simply be 'just friends' from my own experience every somali guy friend I had made a pass at me at some point. I've quit trying to friend them to save me from the awkward 'I don't see you like that' convos. As for her blocking you, what can you do other than just deleting his and number and voiding them all together.

I imagine these people to be incapable of reigning in their hormones. Not everything has to do with sex or romance. I have plenty of guy friends and its not right to assume they don't develop brotherly love.

Amira lol exactly. What can I do? Nada.

You should celebrate this.it means that she is jealous and you are most likely good looking.

Ps.somali females have an inherent evolotionary paranoid trait known as the second wife syndrome(the fear of ur man marrying a second bird). This is what your friends misses fears.

He already made a pass at you so clearly wanted something more than 'platonic friendship'. The wife could probably tell (in all likelihood he's done this to other women as well) and from her perspective this is obviously a threat. If you want nothing but the best for the marriage then just let it go, don't contact him and ignore his messages if he tries to contact you. This is a no brainer. Unless he's your best friend or something, it's not worth involving yourself in a messy/difficult marriage.

People of all races and genders and sexes get jelous and crazy, stop pretending it's just Somali women or that all Somali women are like that.

EDIT: the link isn't working now but it's basically a white girl beating her boyfriend for looking at/liking a girls (friend) picture on facebook.
