two years have gone since this president came into office
I remember hassan sheekh saying in one of his last year interviews he will not make such thing except that he will lay down the foundations of a new somalia when it comes to the state institutions; justice and order, the bases of a functioning state from inside and with suprime power and soveringty
Having seen a stronger center and regional reconciliations, I think, in another two years this can be achieved.

He has done his best allot has to be done especially the constitutions reform and review new territories have been captured
But federalism and bad governace remains he has. He has solved kismayo issue but allot awaits him. Its not a simple task , somalia is bleeding it needs a doctor can he help stop the bleeding he has enough time to change allot of things we shall see.

Constitution is a reference and will help much in the political roles but anyways a its a processKhalid Ali wrote:He has done his best allot has to be done especially the constitutions reform and review new territories have been captured

What maters in the order is the legislations, we have had some of them like the terror law, media law, arms law
Most important is the security and the good governance
The third will be securing funds
Lastly bringing order to the liberated area and establishing security institutions in there
Diplomatically there are great developments like the US embassy
Kismayo is finish, you know why? Because there was pressure on IGAD from the US
There will be elections in 2015 and who knows people like gandhi and the pms folks may replace the current groups
For these findings, I guess, having the experience, things may get done faster.

Yes diplomatically he has made allot of progress especially with Washington
But the main challenge for hassan will be vision2016 and security , he has to make progress in that area. Also the contention with kenya water will break him or make him. He has allot of time still he has to build institutions though there is allot progress in the private sector specially Mogadishu, he has to secure the city. And he has to use the diplomatic support the west gave him to build an army. He has done good to ignore abdiweli and focus on the south.

You can buy into this fake paper Govt if you want to.
Most snetters know that the true masters in Mog have flat noses and fuzzy hair.
Hassan Sheikh is little more than a smile and a cheap suit.

Yeah. After they found oil just behind kismayo the govt decided to challenge kenya by going to the international courtKhalid Ali wrote:Yes diplomatically he has made allot of progress especially with Washington

I was listening afyare elmi saying they are not well-prepared for this battle that needs to have many factors so its better to postbone it
West may back the govt since they got the deals and kenya going for china, this is what they believe
Politically kenya has no more big roles bc of engaging ethiopia in there, dealing with the spoilers
I think puntland doesn't believe there's a govt, every thing govt does they would oppose it so why not be their own federal govt?
I think it depends on how mogadishu can act as a government
If puntland did not cooperate, then that region will stay the same while many regions are emerging these days and this will weaken them politically because they have to be like the rest.

You have to give credit where it is due.
Hasan Shiekh has done a good job of navigating the cuttroath somali clan politics,
while dealing with a constitution that he had no role in creating and that was badly made ,
as well as dealing with AU, UN who have a equal if not greater role than his administration in governing somalia.
He has to deal with other countries like Turkey, Qatar, UAE, Saudia and the US/UK/EU to counter the AU/UN
and There is Kenya and Ethiopia,
and lastly Alshabab.
with all those challenges what little achievements made are to be respected,
i doubt any of you could do any better.
