Assad IS the devil. He's a butcherer of his own people, I'm sure you know that. The conditions in Syria are not ideal, and the so-called "moderate" groups are indeed worthy of suspicion, but this course of action is better than simply ignoring the problem (which is the only other solution as the UN is NOT going to authorize any intervention and Obama will not act unilaterally).
Talk about been brainwashed by fox news.
Asad is a God send and he is doing a service to humanity by fumigating those lunatics.

I am not saying that he is a saint.Jove wrote:Assad IS the devil. He's a butcherer of his own people, I'm sure you know that. Unless you want to deny his atrocities and in-so-doing cheapen the blood of his victims.
And he sure has blood in his hand.
But compare to YOUR samaritans the US...He is a up there with the angels.
Asad is defending his country from blood thirsty mercenary masquerading as freedom fighters.
He has every right to defend his land and by any means.
Don't mention victims and atrocities if you believe that the US is there only for humanitarian purpose.
Re: US Congress approves $500 million to arm Syrian rebels
I was very clear that the US was fighting primarily to check Russia. Russia has a warm-water port in Syria and has allied with the Syrian regime for many decades now. Changing this status quo is the main aim of the US. Your claim that Bashar is "defending his country" is absurd. He's ravaging his own country, his own people. His soldiers cluster bomb entire neighborhoods. His militia's enter random villages and murder anything that moves. His agents detain random civilians and beat them mercilessly as they force them to make sacrilegious comments like "Bashar is god." With a monster like this ruling over them, no wonder the Syrian people have taken up arms against him. But he's supported by Russia and China— nation's that use him as a pawn in their political plays just as the US uses the rebels it supports. Nobody is involved in Syria for humanitarian, altruistic reasons. Everyone has their own agenda. The Syrians know this, but they are a weak, poor people. They have to make do with the hand their played, and sometimes that means accepting aid from America. I bet if you were in their position you would too.jalaaludin5 wrote:I am not saying that he is a saint.Jove wrote:Assad IS the devil. He's a butcherer of his own people, I'm sure you know that. Bashar al-asad is the legitimate ruler of Syria and recognized as such in the international community.
His military is full of Sunni soldiers who love nothing more than bomb the hell out of lucifers (USA) infantry.
From every angle you look at it he is within his right to do what his doing and more. As a matter of fact he has shown a gread deal of restrain on his part because the oppositions deserve nothing less than to be nuked to the after-life.
But you do have a point...
The US is primarily there to check Russia.
And yes they went to Iraq to destroy WMD.
And Afghanistan to fight Al-qaeda.
They fought Gaddafi for the sake of freedom and democracy.
Supported a fair election in Egypt and kept silent al-sisi's military coup.
They defend Israel because they are in mortal danger from rock trowing Gazans.
And there is no racism in America otherwise Obama wouldn't be president.

So your thinking must be that America is there to kidnap Syrian children and give them to the Zionists who will use them as human sacrifices on the temple mount.jalaaludin5 wrote:Jove wrote:I was very clear that the US was fighting primarily to check Russia. I agree the war will last years unfortunately, but no way I see Assad getting out of this as head of state. It maybe someone else, but Assad is done. Dictators always overestimate their powers and he's done the same thing. He's alienated everyone and has lost the support of his people. Only people who support him now are his Alawi kinsman and mercenaries who are there for their own self interest.Classiq wrote:^ this war will last for years, the Syrian army will win, unless the rebels get more anti air and anti tank it might become more balanced.
Unless NATO troops or a joint attack similar in Afghanistan where almost 10 countries deployed troops to fight, then the Syrian government will lose but it won't happen, as along as Russia and China keep veto'ing it . I hope the government wins, Syria was a peaceful country and better than most middle eastern countries except Egypt. If Syria becomes another Libya, then the cycle will continue, maybe Egypt is next so the west can control the suez, maybe Yemen after, and so on.
We have to do something now or the Middle East will be screwed for the next 50 to 60 years max.
Difference between Afghanistan and Syria is the average Pashtun in Afghanistan is against the occupation and doesn't mind the Taliban too much. The only ones supporting the occupation are being paid to do so. In Syria it's the opposite. The average Syrian hates Assad. The only people who support Assad are his Alawite group and folks who are being paid to do so.
Despite all of the international medling in Syrian affair, people would be fighting Assad with or without other countries involved. Assad's jig is up. He shoulda left when he had the chance, now they'll behead him.

Assad is paying no one. The alawites, shia, christians and jews love him. Before all this happen even the sunnis enjoyed him as presidant there was no problems. Why where they so quick to use religion to justify their rebellion, even religion goes against them. Like any human they were giving weapons and the opportunity to take over the country and they took it like idiots. There was no previous hatred against the government, i never heard of syria in the news for the longest time before this (must have been doing something good). I agree Assad should step down but the government should not lose control of syria thats crazy talk, its all a plan to make syria like iraq and libya. Ever since the start of the conflict, the government was demonized over and over again.Shirib wrote:I agree the war will last years unfortunately, but no way I see Assad getting out of this as head of state. According to many reports and polls, most Americans feel they're still in recession. This new adventure by America should augment it.grandpakhalif wrote:The great plan of the Late Bin Laden is coming to fruition the war of attrition will bring US economy to its knees.
