HARGEISA-Country’s Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation Minister Hon. Mohamed Bihi Yonis has received on Saturday at his office a Sudanese delegation including traditional Chiefs, religious Imams and politicians.

Mr. Bihi has revealed that the mission of the delegates is to consolidate the ties between the two brotherly nations.

He stated that advisors to Sudanese president and Prime Minister are part and parcel of the delegation.

It is the fisrt time that such high level Sudanese delegation has visited Somaliland ever since it broke away from Somalia in 1991 although it is not internationally recognized.

I'm not sure why Sudan would send delegation but lately Sudan has been distancing itself from the Arabs in particular Egypt, Saudi Arabia and co. It is slowly becoming closer to the African states including Ethiopia (to develop joint forces, share DAM electricity, water) and several others.

South Sudan is going in the opposite direction and Ethiopia is funding the Nuer-based opposition. Uganda strongly funds the Dinka-led Government. These two are competing over the South Sudanese oil pipeline. Ethiopia wants the pipe to run through her territory to Djibouti but Uganda wants the pipeline on her side and the Dinka believe in that side.

Sudan is in turmoil and South Sudan was her breadbasket. Maybe it came to Hargeisa to beg like Wanlawein. Darfur will soon declare secession as will Nubia, the Beja of the east will join Eritrea and they will loss the Rashaida too.

Sudan has been very anti SL , i want to know what changed is it because the good relations the foreign minister had with Sudan . Or something else The Dinka versus the Nuer is in South Sudan, not north Sudan. i will never forget their role in 2007, when they objected against President Rayaale addressing the AU , and when the president Paul kagamu of Rwanda opened the debate about SL at the conference. Sudan and Egypt threatened to withdraw from the AU if the SL case is brought to conference. They are a bigger enemy than the WALANWEYNS. I wonder thought what changed. Hawdian about the pipeline Uganda is allied to the walanweyns , though Djibouti the small french entity are not a real threat , we should support the oil to go through Ethiopia.

Sudan was SL's worst enemies whats with the visit even their elders
still laughing about how the former Somalia republic entered the arab league though ghalib asking the arabs who is lighter me or the Sudanese?

but then again I believe the Egyptians sent them to SL with the whole nile thing and how it runs through sudan as well. seeing that Somalia is no hope with 3/4 of Africa protecting it, they require a Plan B,

Sudan leans now more on Ethiopia and they seem to have understanding on the the Nile dam the Ethiopians are constructing. The Sudanese have lost south sudan and i believe they understand there is no reason for them to be longer anti Somaliland. But they will never be our Friends. Somaliland allies in the region for now are Ethiopia and Kenya and Rwanda, and South Sudan.
