Arabs were guests in the somali lands. They brought islam to coastal cities and the first somalis accepted through them.

Then it was the somalis sheikhs job to spread islam in the interior.now, theyre not going to start spreading islam in arabic and ask these nomads to change their language.it is in fact simple logic.there was never any collective decision to reject because somalis never needed to.
Again, arabs took over cairo; took over morroco; and so and so forth. Those nations could not really resist the arabistion of their societies, especially in the major cities of the newly acquired empire.only a fool would compare those nations which were conquered by the sahaba to somalia.

Somalis do not speak arabic as a first language nor follow arabic culture ( eating lizards or whatever else they do) Somalis had a chance when Islam first came to Somalia to use Arabic as their sole language and they said no that's all there is to it. Sudanese who were assimilated speak arabic solely as a first language but Somalis who had a chance to choose arabic claim to be arab speak Somali as a first language. Hilarious

Do not compare Sudani people with Somalis. Sudanis are AfroArab, tribes like the Shawaiga, Jaciliyeen, etc in addition to the many Bedouins in the north are descended from Arabs from Egypt, SaudiArabia and Yemen. There are also Sudanese people descended from Turks and Syrians.

If you were to hear them you would notice their Arabic is quite similar to the Hijazi accent spoken in Western Saudi Arabia.
