How can you claim Borama is too close to the Ethiopian border and still recommend Hargeisa? And what happened to "xabashis are our allies and would never invade"? You are so full of hypocrisy and inconsistencies. Erigaabo should be the Capital. It's near the coast and away from Ethiopia. Hargeisa can continue to be a major city centre for trade and culture.
By Isxaaq do you mean the Cabdallle and Kaliil who had always been allied with the Western Ciidagale or the Qaasin who always been involved into the larger H.Y politics.? one can argue that the former always operated within the ciidagale politics, for example during the Ciidagale Vs Huwan ( Arab+ Gobdoon) 1890's ( Balaadh, Indho-gube etc) civil wars the Cabdalle fought along side the Ciise Dhamal , whereas the Qaasin never bothered themselves with the Ciidagale agenda. In fact the Qaasin never recognized the Ciidagale sultanates they were within the H.Y sultanates, during the rise of the Dervish the Qaasin along some western Habar Yoonis on June 1899 held an assembly with Sultaan Nuur in Bagan and rejected the cause of the Dervish arguing that they had no Tariiqa affiliations with the Saalxiya Dervish and that their Mullah's were the Qaadiriya of Sheekh Madar and the Axmediya of Sheekh Muuse of Xaaxi ( reer Abokor), for that they were raided by the order of sultan Nuur on Sept. 1899.
However in general the Isxaaq were the most westerly H.Y subclan and predated the Nuux Ismaaciil arrival to Hargaysa, both section of the Nuux Ismaaciil , the Yoonis and Axmed migrated to Hargaysa very recently during the reign of Sultaan Diiriye who lived as recently as the 1930's. In the case of the Yoonis Nuux who settled in Bulaxaar their migrations to Hargaysa began in the 1890's when Bulaxaar was sacked by a tsunami , for the reer Axmed their migrations to Hargaysa was in the 1920's , the first habar awal sultan Diiriye Askar was never recognized by the reer Axmed who lived in Berbera in the 1920's , later in the last part of the 1920's they at last recognized him and in Berbera a tribal assembly and a Dabaal-dag by the reer Axmed for the sultan was held and during those years the reer Axmed began to migrate to Hargaysa.
One shouldn't confuse the followings , Hargaysa was winter grazing lands of the so called Habar-garxajis ( Arab, Ciidagale and Isxaaq) , the first permanent settlements of Hargaysa was during the 1890's when sheikh Madar along with his Mullahs formed the Jameeca henece called Jameeco-weyn ( religious settlement ), still there was no city nor a town , it was a settlement of farms where the mullahs cultivated sorghum and fed around 200 destitutes . later in the 1890's the reer Bulaxaar requsted from Sultan Diiriye and the Habar-Garxajis if they could bring their trade to the town , a deal was reached , it was easier for these clans to acquire their goods in the town rather then travelling to the coast and it was a good deal for the Bulaxaar traders to bring their goods to the hinter town and outcompete Berbera and their reer Axmed rivals. That's how the town began , later the story was completed by the British making it their capital leaving both Sheekh and Berbera .
