Somali Terms of Endearment

Post by EvolSyawla »

Macaaney, gacalyso, xabibti, xayati, malabay, quruuxey...etc

Do you use them? I know every relationship is dependant on people's needs and preferences, but if you don't use terms of endearment, I suggest that you start.

One can get use to being sweetened up, and you can't go wrong.

:| I know Somali guys like to think raganiimo doesn't include being sweet to eachother, but I can guarantee you both will be happier when you can get her to blush and giggle from something so simple. And she will usually be more than happy to return the affection.

Just a friendly tip from your neighbourhood love activist, LoveAlways.

Are there other terms that you use? I just learned 'qalbiiyow' the other day lol

"Nuurkeygiyow, dhaayaahagiyow, Macaan badanoow, Noloshaydiyow iyo gacalka"

I wouldn't say those words lakin I've heard it from my neighbours, it sounds hella cheesy though :P

The only time you will ever catch me using such awkward terms is when I want to get Some...

You use walaal on your wife?... :? I'll never understand that. Like saying inadeer to a girl you like. I know back in the days, couples were litterally inadeers (and some cases they still are  but damn. Why? Pretend? If you call me inadeer, you are instantly placed in that category and everything between us is just walaaltinimo)

Babe works...but there is a certain sweetness I associate with Somali words being used.

hahaha Bella, those are sweet! It sounds corny, but between two people who are being corny together, it's hella sweet. I get butterflies n errtang. Whatever I was upset about disappears.

Jalaal, can you say coucou to a girl you like?

HalfSomali, If you want to talk to trash, go ahead and say that. But don't refer to Somali sisters as such.

I've actually seen a riwaayadh where a guy was being playful and called a girl shukulaatiini. It's cute, but it definitely had to do with his fob-factor and it wasn't so weird loll. Meh... Somethings work for some couples. :)

*Slaps his bitch on her butt-cheeks* Give me something to eat, bitch; I am hungry. And also get yourself ready coz I am "thirsty" too. ;) << Works better than any endearment terms all the time.
