Never heard of divorce with Somalis, and infact thought it was so taboo that, well, you'd be ostracised if you did. Growing up and meeting more Somalis changed my perspective completely - Especially after going to Djibouti! (No offense Djiboutians)
Now....I am very sad to hear that my belief that Somali men didn't have it in their nature to physically beat their wives has been changed as well - broken front teeth, broken bones.... I am hearing many stories of women who are either dealing with a husband who beats them, or have divorced because of it. I thought that was an arab problem?
Is this a new problem, or has this always just been kept under the rug?
Sorry booboo, but you know it's true. Everyone who was married either divorced, having some crazy issues, or he/she is cheating. I was like Whoaa....this is new.

Seeing how you're laughing, arintan ma wax baa ka jira, ninyahow? Just like that saying, "naag somaliyeed il xishoota malaha laakiin il baqata ayey leedahay"?eliteSomali wrote:GAMER wrote:Ogadens are the biggest offenders of this type of behavior, it's very well known fact that Ogaden men (because of their dhaqan) to go smash their women the first night of marriage to let em know who the man of the house is.I am surprised this wasn't the first reply. Re: Abusive Somali Men
I have yet to see such cases but i am not shocked. But i always kinda assumed that Somali men were pretty much usually out of the pic.Tend to avoid home.
Re: Abusive Somali Men
Love, that saying has been posted previously by another member and seeing the comment Gamer made & Elite's reaction you can see where I am coming from, right? I know you fantasize about dominant guy that spanks you when you cross certain line so why don't you stop fronting, young lady?

Re: Abusive Somali Men
Well since you ask at every opportunity, I will say that there is having fun with your man (spanking, hair pulling et all)...and then being abused. It is not a fine line. One is driven by mutual passion, the other is aggression and anger. I don't see how the former can even be brought up -I know, not by you - when you are all reading about women who have been hospitalized and limbs broken.
Tuushi macaaney, I am surprised myself at how common this is. It's abhorrent, I didn't expect too much from our male counterparts, but I definitely did not think it was such an issue. I grew up thinking that culturally, they had boundaries, but I guess not.

Just messing with ya, mate. And by the way, I haven't even heard a Somali guy accused of abusing his partner where I am, let alone witnessing one. May be it's some new issue in North America/Europe? Don't know.

Probably happens, people are just too hypocritical to bring up the ceeb.
I know you're playing around, sorry awoowe. Once you discover someone who you personally know has been badly injured, it ceases to be a laughing matter.
