Bordeaux manager Willy Sagnol in extraordinary African player rant



Bordeaux manager Willy Sagnol has made some derisory comments about football players of African origin today in an interview with Sud-Ouest.

He had the following to say on the matter of AFCON and African players in general:

“There will be a lot less African players signing for Bordeaux because I don’t want to find myself with 12 players every who, every two years, leave for a couple of months. The advantage of an African player, is that he’s cheap when you get him, ready to fight, but football isn’t just about that. It’s also about technique, intelligence, and discipline. You need to have it all.”

I don't see what's funny anzeloti. You do realize that his remarks would also include you?

Without the "less intelligent" african players there would be no french national team since 90% of the FFF team is almost always west africans and north africans. The greatest french player of all time is a north african berber.

One thing that amuses me about the french though, is that they are so candid and blasé about their racism. They don't even pretend to hide it like the ingiriis.

I am surprised he said it... after decades playing with African players ! he is basically calling Henry,Thuram,Viera,Makalele,Zidane,Abidal and co less intelligent than him !
