got extra job but not sure about it

Post by sahal80 »

Got extra job but the problem is that they would call me when they need me and I work in a shop, some times as security at the park(football time for kids) in weekends but some one is sharing with me now bc I once quit it

Don't ask me how much they will pay me!

I'm now at office as Interpreter

Just sent this text to a syrian guy who received a letter from the office and couldn't understand it

There r others inside

He's wating family reunion, lives in another town.

I sent him two texts in arabic and english

Who said my english is bad all you need is to look good lol

Hala abu hossam. There's a new woman who's your caseworker at your lawyer(...), her name is tracy, she says that she has taken over the conduct of your family reunion case so you have to contact with her about this. She says that they are waiting for a decision from the british embassy on your behalf and will contact you as soon as she receives any futher correspondences in relation to your case. She says she would be gratefull if you would provide her with the latest letter that you have received. In the meantime if you require any assistance then please do not hesitate to contect her.
Wassalam.

Why didn't you translate fully what the letter said? You didn't tell him that his new "representative" is a lawyer, what her name was, and that she said not to hesitate to contact her. To take shortcuts on a short letter, whilst being paid the same wages, for something so important to the client... smh.

To add to Yummy's points, what do you mean by:

"she says that she has taken over the conduct of your family reunion case so you have to contact with her about this".

What is the "conduct"?

More practice will make you an established interpreter.

Don't you see I'm using a third person, also in a simple english?

He has the same lawyer but they made for him a caseworker for his case(lami shaml)

This is his question
تقدر تشوف ايش محتوى الرساله وتخبرني باختصار

This is his answer

Sahal

Interpreting from one language to another requires the understanding of the context it is written on, or the gist of the sentence, rather than translating word by word in which the meaning will be lost. Linguistically, there are other things such as euphemism to consider too. Others might have said, She informs you that she is now your case worker, or legal representative in relation to your family reunification application/case.

They are not employees rather self-employed so no taxs on their salaries when they are receiving them but they will pay it after through their accountants

I'm looking now for an accountant, I also need to get diploma this is why I'm not sure about it

May be if your qualified interpreter and this was some thing that you have learned you can work for agencies, companies media

But this one is rubbish, somali who do this must had other jobs like tax driver, or the shop

You would use the invoce system and to get the check may take 4 weeks

Than you would pay the tax later , you need to get some form and find an accountant.

Equal, why don't you go back to school school and do benter than this for both languages?

I've family member who is official translator for British government in Iraq. He is paid an arm and leg for it. I consider his job dishonest and that is I'm very civil and nice!
Point is, they put him in extensive English courses to translate as profional as possible since he was native Arabic speaker!

Ask them if o pay your schooling to do better the job you do.

cajib! How can you talk to me like this?

I'm not claiming to know more arabic than you but I'm sure you don't know more than me!

Remember when waryaa asked you to translate to him a phrase and you gave him the wrong transilation(gramatically)

He then said google translates like sahal did lol

Yemenis don't speak arabic and qatar has a weak education

I have arabic articles man

That was just a text while I was busy yet nothing wrong with it except vew extra lettrs of technical error

Kolahaa equal!

Stay humble sxb!
