How's this even possible? 8 foot of snow in 3 days? People are literally trapped in their homes

Same thing happened last winter, and there was no day off.

It is even more strange because it is only happening in the southern part of the city. The northern part got around few inches to a feet at most.

Cold air moves over the warm Lake Erie, causing the evaporating moisture from the lake to condense into clouds, which in turn, condense and freeze into snow. The wind blows these clouds and precipitation over the land, where the snow dumps. :|

James, I heard no one in your city has winter tires and there is chaos in the city whenever you get 2 cm of snow. Schools are closed and employers tell their workers not to come in. So we cannot take comments like that from a Vancouverite seriously. What you said was an exaggeration.

Well maybe 2 inches is an exaggeration, but I have seen the whole city shut down over a 30cm snowfall twice in the last 10 years. It's pathetic haha.

Vancouverites are not used to snow, they don't have winter tires and the city only has two snow plows.

Edmontonians know true winter
